This isnt a bad game, but if you started playing in the 90s like I did then there might be some things youre not happy with. For starters, the game has really been dumbed down. While I understand the game is supposed to be marketed to kids, the amount of hand holding in this game is ridiculous. HMs? Nope. Youll just be given something thatll allow you to fly or surf without having to search for something special or even work for it at all. The island challenges arent very challenging, either. Your rival doesnt even seem like a rival and another challenge was taken away when he heals your Pokemon before every battle with him. Another thing I was disappointed in was how the game seems to focus more on other characters than it does you. You kind of seem like a side character a lot. Theres just a lot that made the older games fun and challenging that dont seem to be part of the game anymore; theres even a pretty big difference just from X And Y. Its still worth playing, but I wouldnt pay full price for it. Go find a used copy or borrow it from a friend. Hopefully, the next installment will be better.

One of the better Pokemon games in recent history. It does a lot of things right like no HMs, Lots of cool new Pokemon and old ones you run into pretty often. I have very mixed feelings on the Trials. I would honestly much prefer a gym than the trials but hey at least they are trying something new than just sticking to the usual formula. The biggest negative which is why I knocked off a star is the dialogue is way to overdone here. A lot can be cut out and you would get the same story. Often times the trial people repeat things like 2-3 times and it just ruins the flow of the game a little bit.

I wanted to write a review explaining to possible buyers what is going on with the whole World Edition issue. I purchased this game and received the World Edition. This means that the copy of the game was packaged and meant for distribution in (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Thailand, etc.). The game will work with a 3DS from the US, but the packaging and booklet are not the ones intended for sale in the US. The fault lies with Amazon not having the proper image on the listing. Amazon is distributing this game for Myshopville. I checked Myshopvilles website and their listing for this game has the correct image showing it is the World Edition. If you are purchasing simply to play the game and enjoy it, it will totally work. If you are purchasing this as a collector and want a true US version, purchase elsewhere.

Pokemon Sun and Moon are both fantastic games! Theres not enough that can be said about it. I came into Pokemon Moon as someone who knew of the series and enjoyed the card game when i was younger, but hadnt played any of the previous installments of the video game. So this was brand new for me, but i was able to pick it up very quickly and had a blast playing through the game. Replay value is another thing that this game has tons of. After completing the main story, there are post game missions to be completed and of course the goal of capturing all the pokemon in your pokedex. Overall its a great game and I highly recommend either version to anyone who is a pokemon fan or a fan of rpg games in general.

Im 24, and at the beginning there was a lot of hand-holding, which I hated. As the game progressed that went away, but be prepared for the first hour or two of game play to be clicking A. I got Sun for me and Moon for my boyfriend. We play together and it is a really fun game to enjoy with others. There are some Pokemon like Rockruff that evolve into something different depending on the game you have, so it is a good idea to plan out with a friend to each buy a different game so you can collect them all. Some additions to the game that I like: Easier maneuvering on the pokemon PC. You can now deposit, withdrawal, and move pokemon at the same time. The ability to ride different Pokemon. Some additions I dont like: There is no 3D, which I think is ridiculous. I heard it was because they made it for other systems too, but I think that is unacceptable because I have a 3DS, so you better make it 3D capable. They also made it pretty immature and seemly for a very young audience, and at times things seem too easy, but luckily catching Pokemon seems to be more difficult as the game goes on. I am halfway through the game, but overall I love it, and would recommend it.

Did you know there are no more HMs in this game? Yeah, there are no more HMs. If youre not a fan of long (2 minute or so) cutscenes, I wouldnt recommend this generation of pokemon. But if youre craving to have cutscenes in a pokemon game to make it much more of a story-based RPG, then this has ya covered. The first few hours (depending on how fast you get through the intro) are pretty hand-holdy, but they mostly let go and let you explore afterwards. Its a great starting/restarting point in the series, and they dont to expect you to know everything about pokemon.

If you love Pokemon you have to get this. I havent beaten it yet but this one sure does knock it out of the park. The cut-scenes alone are enough to sell the game The whole world is lively and full of Pokemon to interact with. Not only that you can ride Pokemon all over the towns and maps! Theres a lot to be excited about this game especially now that everything is build from the ground up on this one. No more mini characters and full sized characters that was really bothering me the last games. If you love Pokemon you will definitely love this one, Its the same game we knew to grow and love 20+ years ago!

The best pokemon game released to date. For those who havent played since the days of Red/Green/Blue/Yellow, this is the time to give it another shot. ******************************************* PROS: The ability to randomly trade a pokemon in Wonder Trade The ability to trade online with friends The ability to leave a request to trade one pokemon for another with specific details in GTS The Pokepelago islands allowing you to level pokemon and gain items as time passes in real life without playing ******************************************* CONS: Completion of the pokedex is possible but unnecessarily difficult due primarily to various pokemon only obtainable via fishing (and the fishing mechanic in this game is honestly broken). The appearance rates of many water pokemon are in the realm of 3% and there is only 1 fishing rod in this game. It was relatively easy to complete the entire pokedex, but sadly there is little reward for doing so. The Battle Tree is more difficult than prior games, but for the wrong reasons. From the start the BattleTree can put you up against a trainer who will absolutely sweep the floor with you. The difficulty ramping is insurmountable and success in a series of battles always feels more like RNG luck than skill. The Global Event quotas are ridiculously high and prevent the community from being able to attain the highest rewards (which tend to be too low to begin with), which results in the community shying away from the events.

While I grew up with the original 1st Generation Pokémon games, I had lost interest in the series just after Gen. 3. This was around the time I headed off to college, so I didn’t have as much time for video games as I did while in high school. Fast forward to the 20th anniversary of Pokémon and the release of Pokémon Sun and Moon. There were plenty of legendary Pokémon being given out at the time, so I found it was as good a time as any to get back into the series. A lot had changed since I left, and Pokémon Sun carried over plenty of these changes. I appreciated a lot of these tweaks, including the removal of HMs and unlimited-use TMs. And while adjusting the “experience share” to give experience to all the Pokémon in my team made the game a little easier, it also reduced the amount of grind that I’d need to perform to progress. Additionally, the online capability of these newer games meant that I could easily fill out my Pokédex without having to track down a friend who had all the Pokémon I was missing. I’ll also admit that the “Alola variant” of many Gen 1 Pokémon was a nice touch of modified nostalgia. However, there were some things that I found a little lackluster or irritating. While the story was pretty good, there wasn’t much to do after I completed the game, other than to complete the Pokédex. The fact that there wasn’t some form of a National Dex for all the legendaries I had gained through gift codes was a bit disappointing, as there was no impetus for me to truly “collect them all.” And while the Z-move mechanic was a neat and flashy addition, having to sit through the animation for them each and every time I used them became tedious by the end. An enjoyable adventure, despite a few minor weaknesses, I give Pokémon Sun 4.0 stars out of 5.
