Great for my plants on my hutch.

We own THREE of these for a YEAR now. I don’t bother writing reviews because I’m too busy. But I respect this company and have been through well over a dozen humidifiers as I have lived over 30 years in Minnesota, which gets dry in the winter time. This humidifier has been by my favorite by far! It’s easy to use. Less maintenance to clean; I just soak in distilled white vinegar and it wipes off clean with paper towel/wash cloth and rarely scrubbing with a brush. I like to be able to choose the amount of humidity released. I can have it running all night and day and only need to refill at night again if I want humidity at night and that’s even at one of its highest amounts of release at level 3! I like that it’s super quiet for my kids’ room and mine; I’m an incredibly light sleeper!! I REALLY appreciate the feature to turn off the humidifier light as my kids have a main nightlight or be able to leave it on as their primary night light. I think the price is fair. We don’t wake up with dry and stuffy noses. The more I learn about how humidity helps with reducing the effects of colds and sinuses the more consistent I am to keeping it running all day and night. I’ll be buying one for our two living rooms where the kids play the most during the day. I took one star off because my ONLY annoyance is that the plug-in has a blue light on it (which is nice to know that it’s plugged in and working) but it’s so bright that I need to cover it up or it illuminates too much that is a bothersome to our nightly sleep. So wish that feature could be changed - dimmed. It’s not enough for me to not buy another one because I have definitely recommended it to family and friends!

Pros - Perfect size and easy to fill and clean. Nice looking. Cons - has an annoying low buzz, but if it’s in a room other than a bedroom, it’s very doable.

This humidifier is lowkey and works great for the small plants on my windowsill. It has multiple mist settings -- I use the intermittent setting that sprays a burst of mist every few seconds so I dont have to re-fill the water as often.

I bought this to take with me to work because I am constantly dry especially this harsh beginning to winter! I love it!! Of course it is not as effective as a full size humidifier but it has made enough difference that I don’t wake up feeling dry! Really loved this and recommend it for the price!!

Used the silver floating fish to combat bacterial growth but did not see vast improvement. Still keep the lit tapped shut. This unit is a little too bright at night. I have had to also tape over the resevoir and on button to reduce the light at night. I think it is just a cheap unit now that I have another brand. Compared with my new unit, this Geniani seems cheap. Spend the extra $ and get a better unit. This unit does unplug in thr back which I have found I like. That is the only positive after this whole time. I only use it because I paid too much for it. **Updated after a year (above)** Not sure how but I found a live cricket inside my unit. It must have come from the ceiling and fell inside. It is up on a counter about 4 feet tall. I was grossed out. Also found a dead moth inside. Promptly taped up the opening. Now I just take off the lid and add distilled water that way. Not a biggie. Do not like the hole on top for adding water as its open to everything else as well. Loss of 1 star. I will try a different unit next time. The little oil diffuser is a gimmick. Cannot smell a thing. There is a little gap on top as the lid just sits on top. Minor issues basically. Overall I like it. Do not like that I have to block the top off but this is an attractive unit. It hardly makes any noise (as compared to my Vicks brand machines) and I like that I can toggle between less and more moisture (although honestly it doesnt seem like any difference). It is easy to clean. I like that it comes apart into 2 distinct units. I clean my units regularly with bleach water, use a little fish cleaner inside and NEVER use tap water! I can go 2 weeks in between cleanings and have used the same units for years! The distilled water is a MUST! Just an observation from reading reviewers comments who obviously use tap water.

Loved this thing, but it stopped working after 2 months. I did not use it daily, so the short lifespan is frustrating for something not used that often.

I wanted to try a cool mist humidifier so I checked this one out. Even though every humidifier wants distilled water to use in it that can get expensive during the winter months since you would have to stock up on many gallons of distilled water for a four to six month period which can be quite costly. Tap water the fastest method but then your releasing the dreaded WHITE MIST which will emit quite a lot. Starts to white mist your room on everything. So you try these decriminalize tap water products and all the one I have tried to use to not work. Still had white mist coming out. So Im sure most other cool mist ultrasonic humidifiers have the same issue. Ive gone back to the warm air humidifier with filters because at least I dont get white mist from the ones I have purchased later. Only drawback is replacing filters but try to get a humidifier that have the filters that last the longest time wise to save costs replacing them several times during continuous use. It works well. After a day....pour out water in the bottom. I use moist paper towel with lemon flavored lysol to clean it because the water gets stagnant easily. Its winter and heat is on and it helps keep my nasal passage moist. I would recommend it for this reason. Put essential oil on the tiny sponge located at the back! I use cold water from my tap. Update: it traps dirt/dust from environment and makes it into a slimey gel like thing. You have to pull off cap in cover & wash it out and use tootbrush to wash out the long area that the steam comes through because it traps dirt. It WORKS WELL....but you have to clean it weekly.

I had the previous version for a year and loved it. But it just stopped working so I bought the new one not realizing they had “updated” it. It’s FINE, but the cord is now attached, meaning it’s harder to fill up (you can’t place it in the sink). There is some not-removable ring in the base that means it’s full of mildew and impossible to remove. But my biggest gripe is that there is now black particles appearing in the tank after every use. If this was like a Brita filter with a charcoal filter cartridge I would assume it was charcoal coming out cuz it’s new. But that doesn’t make sense, so now I’m stuff with a device that pumps out black dust all the time.
