> 3 dayFour 1Gbe NICs, passive cooling, with respectable performance from a US-based system integrator with a good reputation and the option for CoreBoot? Whats not to like? I set mine up as an over-specd pfSense firewall to replace some rather underwhelming Asus gear. Combined with some Unifi APs and managed switching gear, it adds up to a pretty powerful home networking setup!

> 3 dayLove this little device. Tends to run pfsense on idle a little warm 50°C,so I suggest buying a small quiet usb powered fan. Maybe have a small unit installed on future models?

> 3 dayThis is a great piece of hardware for running the OPNsense or pfSense firewalls. I installed the latest version of both operating systems on it without any issues. Its been running without any hiccups for several months now.

19-04-2025Got this to protect a 1U server in colo. 100Mbps symmetrical on the WAN and a few VLANs to route. CPU performance is OK for the wattage but cant touch a bigger box for VPN or IDS/IPS performance. Its perfect for what I need though.

> 3 dayIve taken this and installed Sophos UTM 9.6 on it and I expect it will be my firewall (no matter the OS or version) for a very long time (I got it with 8GB ram and 32GB msata)! I bought it to replace a virtual Sophos as well as actual Sophos firewall appliance. This thing is tiny, very standard Intel hardware, silent and works great! Would definitely recommend!

Greater than one weekIve been looking for something to run my home/small office firewall. Ive gone the flashed router path but by far, this is the best option to do. Worth the $$ and the time spent. I have pfsense firewall running.

> 3 dayDoes all I want it to do. openvpn lets encrypt hardware encryption. Runs very warm but it seems to be no big deal. If it bothers you slap a cheap quiet fan on top of the heat sink and call it a day. Will run cool in my experience. Your mileage may vary.
