Just bought the Basilisk and Ive been using the mouse for about a week now. Productivity software and some FPS gaming. Pros: As a user of generic (free) OEM mice, this was a huge change. It took some getting used to, but the mouse is definitely a huge improvement. I paired it with a new Razer Destructor 2 mousepad, it is a completely different experience. I initially thought the DPI clutch is a little gimmicky, but it has its moments depending on your use cases. Highly customizable, and it has a good feel in the hand. The ambitions of the mouse software its paired with are high, but... Cons: The new Synapse software. I realize its in its beta stages, but it makes the experience a frustrating one. Im running Windows 10. Ive received one Synapse software update since I started using it, and both versions are very buggy. So far, the app has crashed multiple times just trying to use its core functionality, the sensitivity buttons on the top have stopped working and its forgotten about my profile until I rebooted, and the color scheme has a mind of its own. Verdict: Great mouse, but give them a little more time before using the new version of the Synapse software. It could make the difference between being truly impressed and being frustrated.

Only reason I dont give five stars is Razer Synapse 3, which is needed to make full use of its features. When it isnt working the dpi clutch doesnt work. Neither does control of the RGB among other things. Its not the most stable software and occasionally just stops working, sometimes requiring a full system reset to work again. Not a deal breaker by any means, though.

I bought this for 34.99 on Black Friday, so the review will be based on this price point. The ergonomics are very comfortable for someone with a medium-sized hand and a palm/claw grip. The interchangeable sniper triggers (lowers the DPS while trigger is depressed) are very nice quality and have a satisfying tactile feel. Multiple lengths for different hand sizes are included. Customization through Razer Synapse is relatively straightforward and expansive as far as mouse customization goes. Especially at this price point, I couldnt possibly give it less than 5 stars. Build quality is great, awesome mouse wheel resistance adjustment on the bottom of mouse, and just a super smooth experience.

I love this mouse. It fits in my hand perfectly, its nice and fat yet lightweight. The Lights on it are good, its extremely responsive. The DPI clutch is very useful, but its fun. The clicks feel good, and the two side buttons feel great. I like to use the wheel as an input, so I have the resistance on it cranked WAY up, making the scroll wheel feel like, clicky and precise input. I’d recommend getting a really nice solid mousepad, like the Razer firefly, because they make this mouse glide perfectly.

The mouse itself works great and has a lot of customization options, from changing LED lighting or sensitivity on the fly. However, the mouse also comes with an entire suite of software that has to be installed and a majority of it you probably dont need. That means this mouse isnt just a plug and play deal since you have to go through this setup but if youre that person who wants to tweak every little thing about the mouse then this is fine for you. When my first mouse arrived the rubber gripping near the very base of the thumb and palm is coming away from the mouse. I ordered a replacement and the new one has the same issue. I expected a little more from a pricier mouse.

This is a great mouse for the price! I love the ergonomic shape especially since I have big hands! I really like the synapse 3 software, it’s pretty cool. I am using this with a Razer Cymosa of which I literally just got today, for my job. I work in I.T and we are able to play games sooo I’ll return after a few months of testing these two peripherals out!

I primarily use this for Battlefield 5. In the past, Ive used a SteelSeries Rival 300, 500 and 600 as well as a Logitech G502. The Razer Basilisk is my new favorite. Pros: Premium material feel and finish Thumb rest DPI Clutch - the paddle itself is metal. Ive remapped it to my Spacebar. I dont find myself searching for it - its just right there. The other two side buttons are easy to find as well. Variable resistance scroll wheel Slope of the RMB and concave LMB Braided cord Great price (I paid $55) Cons: The clutch paddle has a solid (magnetic) connection, but Im afraid If I ever lose it, I wont be able to replace it (unless I use the smaller one that came with it)

I’ve just received this mouse in the mail today and decided to go for a spin with it. So far, I’m fairly impressed. Although I do have few complaints, they shouldn’t stop you from buying this mouse since I’m a very picky person. Likes: - Very ergonomic. - Adjustable scroll wheel. - Side buttons are clicky (just how I like them). - Modular DPI clutch. - Sexy Chroma lighting. Dislikes: - Ring finger is a little uncomfortable (for me at least). - Clicking takes a little more force than I’m used to. - Size of the mouse (My hand is 7 inches {palm to tip of middle finger} and this mouse feels slightly too small). - Synapse 3 is not yet available on MacOS Now, every dislike is all based on my experience and may not be applied to some of you. However something that will be a deal breaker for you might be the fact that Synapse 3 is not yet available on MacOS and Razer has already implied that it will becoming to us Mac users. I can easily boot into windows and install it but I have yet to try it. Sooner or later this review might become updated. Edit: So I was able to install windows 10 onto my iMac and downloaded Synapse 3. I had linked my Hue lights to my mouse and it looks gorgeous! The software was actually better than I thought it would be. I haven’t found any issues “yet” and will continue testing. I will note however, the way you configure the lighting is actually pretty confusing since I was too lazy to read how to use Synapse.

I play mostly first-person shooters and World of Tanks, which I guess would be classified as a shooter, and the mouse performs really well. It feels comfortable to use and is slightly on the smaller side, which I like. So to put things into perspective, I wear and buy large gloves, ergo have large hands, and am able to use a palm grip with the mouse. The only downside of the mouse is that they decided to use rubber on the sides. After a while, the rubber becomes slightly tacky to touch, and will never have the new mouse feeling after you clean it.

I had a Logitech MX Master, and compared to that: +adjustable DPI, on the mouse, via a rocker button, thats pretty handy actually +clutch to release that DPI setting, so the mouse goes nice and slow for detailed work - the Logitech has a nice free spinning wheel for fast scrolling up and down a browser page. - Logitech has slightly better ergonomics for my big hand. Overall winner: this Razer Bazilisk.
