Restored by the Fords, Season 1

I’m sorry, but I can’t stand this show. Steve is not careful at all, is hard to understand, and looks idiotic with his hats and how he wears them. And she lacks any hint of style with her designs. Blah!

Such a wonderful replacement for the now ending 5 seasons of FixerUpper. Leanne actually has the chops and talent for this show. (I covet her wardrobe.) She has no design formula, each project is unique and the solutions are appropriate and creative for that particular building.

This show makes me weep. Just finished the first two episodes of season two and decided to stop recording it after watching the Fords ruin a Craftsman and a Victorian home. Why remove gorgeous, vintage leaded glass windows? Why take a jackhammer to a beautiful tiled fireplace? Why knock down amazing archways? Why paint everything--including lovely woodwork--white? I have no problem with a contemporary aesthetic, but why force it onto vintage homes where it doesnt belong? If youre fortunate enough to have a period home with lots of character but cant appreciate how lucky you are, please do the world a favor. Sell your house, buy a ranch, and THEN invite Leanne Ford and her brother (who frankly, seems like hes stoned throughout the entire show) to slather it in flat white paint. Le sigh.

Entertaining. But the sister has one design mode: WHITE. That sums it up. There are definitely some nice design touches, otherwise. Not my favorite, but the siblings are very likable and really sweet to each other.

My new favorite HGTV TV show. I love the Fords relationship and they do great work together. Fun show to watch and great takeaways for your own home.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this show!!! I feel that Leanne and Steve are respectful of the architecture and time periods in which the homes were built while giving them the refresh that they need and deserve. Im not sure what the 1 star ratings were about because the design is amazing. Design is personal and perhaps its just not their style. I appreciate how thoughtful they are in repurposing materials where it makes sense.

Design and color information and ideas for our own remodeling is priceless.
