These are perfect for the Sega Genesis Mini. Not too many games require the 6 buttons, but still nice to have them when you need them.

Doesn’t work tried on 3 pcs and a raspi. However when I try and return it they only offer a shipping a option that cost over half of the product cost. Trash of a controller sold by scammers.

Very good 6 button pad for the Genesis mini and other systems that accept USB input. The dpad feels a little off compared to the official 3 button controllers dpad, but is still good, and the buttons feel good too. The weight is a little on the light side, but I think that was to be expected. I personally like the feel and size of the 3 button pad more, but having the extra buttons and a mode button for the mini is very convenient. The best thing about this controller is how long the cord is, longer than the controllers packed in the Genesis mini, so this is great if youre far from the console, and its a good enough controller your second player wont complain about.

From a former Genesis gamer, this gamepad is awesome. Looks and feels just like the original, and the d-pad works perfectly with the corners, unless other cheap copies out there. If you like playing Genesis games, is the gamepad to get.

Just like the original Sega Genesis Controllers back in the day.

Ordered two. Was leery of RetroBit because I had some elcheapo controllers they made years ago (sure they were junk, but at least they were super cheap), but everyone assured me that theyve stepped up the game. Well, the quality certainly *feels* a bit better (as they should, the prices have gone higher than their previous generation). Look and feel is where it apparently stops. After using for just about 3 days it just stopped responding in the middle of gameplay. Prettier on the outside, same janky garbage on the inside. Look elsewhere, and remember, YouTube reviewers just want views - - they only play with these things for 20 minutes, and when the recording stops they switch to a real controller.

10 foot cable is out of control for USB version, Id only do that on OG Sega connector. Also, that mode button sucks as menu button on Genesis Mini. Get the Retrobit 2.4hz, it feels better overall, and the select button works better for menu, and has a turbo button on home. The case is awesome, and works with ease on Mini, PC, Pi and Switch. I actually think 8bitdos Genesis controller feels better but its not as authentic. I wanted 8bitdo Genesis bluetooth back in day but they sent me 2.4 so returned. Later, after Genesis Mini wanted the 8bitdo 2.4, and sent me a used one that was gross, and returned it after getting this controller, and ended up with the Reteobit 2.4hz, the best Genesis controller.

So this review is in 4 parts: Part 1 is my review. Part 2 addresses the A+Start issue. Part 3 is to help people that want to know how the controller should be mapped in Retroarch. Part 4 gives a list of games that utilizes the 3 extra buttons. Part 1: It just arrived a few hours ago for me, and I played a bunch of Sega Genesis games on my PC using Retroarch. The USB cord that it is attached to is really thick, seems durable, and is really long. Seems good quality to me, but only time will tell. Having said that, I dont play video games all the time, so Im hoping it lasts a while. Its a pretty nice controller, and so far I really like it. Part 2 - The A+Start issue: I saw one reviewer comment that A+Start does not work in games for him, due to the designers deciding to make that button combination do a particular thing on the Nintendo Switch, and the Steam game hub. I thought that what he said might not apply to people who are just using Retroarch, not with Steam. I tried A+Start during the cheat entry for Sonic 1. It didnt work for me either, but its not a button combination I ever do. Part 3 - Button Mapping: The left side of the equals sign, =, represents the button on the controller, and the right side of the equals sign represents what you need to tell Retroarch the button is. X = Left Shoulder Y = X Z = Right Shoulder A = Y B = B C = A MODE = Select The arrow buttons are just the corresponding arrow buttons. Part 4 - The 6 Button Game List: *Art of Fighting *Batman Forever *Beyond Oasis (uses Mode button for weapon switching as MODE+B) *Boogerman: A Pick and Flick Adventure *Brutal: Paws of Fury *Clay Fighter *Coach K College Basketball *College Footballs National Championship *Comix Zone *Contra Hard Corps *Cutthroat Island *Davis Cup Tennis *Dragon Ball Z: Buyuu Retsuden *Duke Nukem 3D *Dyna Brothers 2 *Eternal Champions *F1 World Championship Edition *Fatal Fury 2 *FIFA 98: Road to World Cup *FIFA Soccer 96 *FIFA Soccer 97 *Garfield: Caught in the Act *Greatest Heavyweights *Head-On Soccer *International Superstar Soccer Deluxe (uses Mode button to select strategy) *Jammit *Judge Dredd *Justice League Task Force *LHX: Attack Chopper *The Lost Vikings *Marsupilami *Mortal Kombat *Mortal Kombat 2 *Mortal Kombat 3 *NBA Action 94 *NBA Action 95 starring David Robinson *NCAA Final Four Basketball *NFL 95 *Phantom 2040 (uses Mode button to stand in place) *Pier Solar and the Great Architects *Power Instinct *Primal Rage *Ranger X *Rise of the Robots *Samurai Shodown *Shaq Fu *Skeleton Krew *Spider-Man & Venom: Maximum Carnage *Spider-Man & Venom: Separation Anxiety *Street Fighter II: Special Champion Edition *Street Racer *Streets of Rage 3 *Sub-terrania *Super Street Fighter II *TechnoClash *The Great Circus Mystery starring Mickey & Minnie *Turrican 3 *Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 *Urban Strike *Virtua Fighter 2 *Virtua Racing *WeaponLord *World Series Baseball 95 *WWF WrestleMania: The Arcade Game *Yū Yū Hakusho: Makyō Tōitsusen *Zombies Ate My Neighbors

I had ordered this along with a blue controller for the Genesis Mini. Tested it once, it worked just fine. The second time using it, the controller wasnt responsive and is pretty much dead. Fortunately, Retro-Bit and Innex Inc. were kind enough to send me a replacement once another stock arrived, which has been working fine since. I wrote in my review for the Blue controller that Retro-Bit had decided to implement a unique macro command for Switch and Steam, in that pressing the A and Start Buttons together would bring up the home screen, which unfortunately cancels out the A+Start command on the Genesis Mini and PC emulators, preventing you from doing codes such as the Sonic 1 and 2 level select codes. So while you have to use the 3-button controllers included with the Genesis Mini for those, its another issue if you dont have one and wanted to use these exclusively with the PC. This affects all controllers designed with Switch compatibility, and will likely affect future controllers as well. Aside from that, the controllers are very well designed and work well.
