Does Adventures add anything worthwhile to Dominion? Is the artwork less goofy than some of the Guilds cards? Can this be enjoyed by newbies to the game?

I love the concepts. I am not crazy about all the extra pieces as they are difficult to store. Definitely a break from original dominion and some of the cards are far too powerful to use in normal games without additional rules in place(Such as hireling and the champion card). A good compromise to play with these cards is to add an additional 6 debt in cost for hireling if you have empires expansion. A very fun expansion all-in-all. I especially like the added kingdom card treasures which provide unique ways to gain advantages.

Let me begin by saying I own all the sets and most of the Promo Cards. I am a huge Dominion fan and avid player for five years now. This ninth expansion set is the best and worst of Dominion in one box. I do NOT recommend it be the first one you buy (try Seaside or Prosperity instead, then Dark Ages or Hinterlands). I say that because some of these cards are quite complicated and fiddly with a fair number of annoying new rules to remember. Thats true of any expansion, but seems to be amplified here.
