This is a great book packed with tons of knowledge on an easy to understand format. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is the price. I feel that they could find a way to get that down just a bit to help out the customer in an already expensive industry. Over all great book and would highly recommend it.

While the overall instruction was very helpful, the one line humor was distracting and time wasting. I think Ron is a very good instructor and able to easily make some very difficult material easy to grasp though I would hope the next edition doesnt have as much of his night club material.

This is in my opinion the best textbook for private pilot. I just got a 93% on the PPL written. Rod goes into way more detail than say the Jeppesen books, which is great because even if you only retain some of it, you still have more than enough knowledge to be a safe pilot.

Only a few days into it, but it meets the expectations of the CFI who recommended it. So far it’s very thorough, yet is presented well for us newbies who aren’t yet pilots.

Great book full of useful knowledge. The author’s style and goofy jokes helped me retain the information being communicated.

This book, the PHAK, and the Jeppesen text are all fine to do a memorize and go for tests, but if you really want to understand finer points of theory/why and applicable/what to do, this is the better text of the three. I enjoy the cheesy humor which can put some people off, but even if you removed that, this test is more cohesively and logically written--there is a person trying to teach you.

I’m currently in Rod Machado’s class along with the book. I love it. Very easy to understand. The class is quite entertaining. If you don’t like the humor, maybe you’re not cut out for aviation. Lol.
