> 3 dayIve installed the product on a Windows 7 system and tried recording an LP through the USB port. When I do that it seems to think that the usb port is a speaker because I can hear the PC noises through a headphone attached to the Roxio Audio Capture box. There is no sound from the resulting MP3 file that should have been the captured song. The other problem is that this seems to turn off my speakers all together. Im going to try to connect through the sound card, instead of USB and see how that goes. If that fails I have a Windows XP system and I may try to install there. After reading other reviews here I wont even bother with Roxio support....

> 3 dayI am not sure what the problem with this program is, but this analog to digital program is highly unreliable. For the price, this program should have definitely tested more completely then this as it appears there are still many bugs in it. My reason for purchase being that the program was easy to use. However with the amount of wasted time when recording and at the point of completing the music, I get a message the program is not responding and I have to delete and restart again. I have contacted Roxio with the graphics of what the program does. No helpful information. Compare carefully with other programs before paying over $50.00 for this unreliable program.

> 3 dayFirst, I installed this software under Windows XP 32 Bit. Except for not being completely easy due to inadequate documentation, like the product description states, they do provide everything you need to easily digitize, clean up and convert audio from analog LPs and cassettes to MP3. The Getting Started Guide does provide the needed information to get you started with the basics, but using all the features/tools with the included documentation takes some experimentation, and much time, which one would not need to do if the documentation was adequate. For example, although they provide information on the Denoiser tool, they do not provide the detailed information to really use/understand it. The settings for the Denoiser are listed in db (decibels), but if one sets it at -4 db, what does that mean: reduce the noise -4 db below the maximum noise level, reduce the noise -4 db below the maximum signal level, reduce the noise -4 db below the average signal level, what? It was like that for other features/tools too. If they included files which were designed to illustrate the effects of the features/tools included, that would be a big help in using/understanding all the features/tools; maybe they will read this review and do that. A caveat: When one installs the software, the audio settings in Sounds settings in the Control Panel are set to the Easy LP To MP3 audio device, so one must access this in the Control Panel and reset the audio device to the original device to return sound to ones computer speakers and headphones, and reset the audio device for any other audio items which have been changed to the Easy LP To MP3 audio device by Easy LP To MP3 when it was installed.

> 3 dayIll start with saying that i purchased this product just a few months ago, and i am ready to throw my hands up. First of all, like in all the other reviews, the program hijacks the soundcard. The second problem i have is skipping during playback. It does this regardless of whether the original source vinyl was perfectly skip free or not. to be sure, i tried recording a cassette tape with the program..and it still skipped upon playback of the recording. What gives? i dont want to take it back , cuz i feel this could be a decent program and maybe i have some settings wrong or maybe another program i have installed is to blame. who knows? but if this is the absolute best that the program performs, under any circumstance, then i am very disappointed and will never purchase another roxio product period ever again. the end..

> 3 dayThis product does not record things in the proper sequence.....scrambles everything in whatever order it wants to....duplicate records different pieces of different tracks....puts spaces in the wrong places....leaves out spaces where they belong. The music ID is horrid....it hasnt got very many right....its giving Jimmy Hendrix names to my jazz albums....most of the artists ive never heard of. Dont waste your money....ive spent too many hours wasting time trying to get it to work....why dont these manufacturers work out the bugs before putting things like this on the market!

04-04-2025First of all, the USB interface hijacked my system, and made itself the default sound device for everything - I was able to fix this for the most part by myself through the Windows Control Panel. However, it also disabled my Cubase programs ability to hear its own Presonus Firewire interface, until I removed the USB device from the System/device section of Windows Control Panel. But thats not even the main problem, I never got past the main screen, and into the Vinyl/Tape converter, Sound Editor, or Tag editor. All I would get is the Windows message about an unexpected problem. Roxio only offers support via web ticket, unless you want to pay $1.98 per minute, and it takes 24-48 to get a response each time. They had me give them screen shots of the error codes, my system screen, and the main view of the program, and text files of the error code reports. After all of that specific information, they offered such specific advice as, defragment your hard drive, and update your video drivers. The end advice they gave me was that if I still had problems I should return it! Which is why I am sending it back, and waiting to see if Amazon gives me full, partial, or no refund, because its open software. I tried using the Roxio User Forum, right on the user site, but the best advice I got from the local expert was that Roxio products sometimes require a clean install which involves removing all of their other products, downloading and running a utility from Microsoft, and MANUALLY editing the Windows registry! yeah, right. I been using PCs since my first 8086, DOS 3.5 computer in 1989, and this is the first time I have absolutely failed to get a program to run! What part of all of that sounds easy? I dont know which product might be better, but buy anything else but this!

Matt S,
> 3 dayBought this in a Best Buy. I seen some negative reviews so I felt compelled to say that this actually works fabulously. I wonder if perhaps some of the negative reviews were from an earlier make of this product, I got a more recent one and its awesome. I ripped Suffocations Pinnacle of Bedlam off of vinyl into my computer so I could slap it on my iPod. Im happy.

> 3 dayI do not want to repeat the reviews already given. This is a terrible product, it does not work on windows 7, AT ALL. Their support is zero. Either buy another product or forget your plans to convert LPs to MP3. THE WORST PR EVER! If I could give less than 1 star I would have done so.
