Safety 1st Small Object Choking Tester

Simple to use, light enough to carry to the store, easy to understand why its important to test. Highly recommended for grandparents, parents, and others who buy toys for young childre.

Does what it says it does. Works great, helps us have some peace of mind and is a great visual to show our older kids when they leave toys out.

I work in the toy industry and this gauge is great for helping define what products will pass testing. This gauge is defined by the ASTM 963-11. If a part fits in the gauge entirely (no parts sticking out): It should not be marked for sale or intended <3yrs of age. Products age 3yrs-6yrs must be marked with a small parts warning Products age 6yrs+ do not require a small parts warning (though it is recommended) As with any strict rule there is still a chance of a hazard even if a part does not fit in the gauge, so caution is best, but its great to understand what requirements manufacturers are held to.

Save your money. I thought this was good to have in a playgroup centre but if this is the test it should be more stringent. It says not to compress the item but the esophagous applies pressure and if you put a grape in it does not fill the tube but would still choke an infant. Save your money and use some common sense

This is a great little product to have on hand. You can see in an instant if a toy is okay or not okay. :)

Wouldnt a piece of PVC pipe with the same 1 1/4 dimensions work just the same?

Worked great to give to my 4 year old daughter as a visual to show her what was to little for her baby brother to play with, and what toys needed to be put up high out of reach at all times

It put to rest the wifes concerns about some of our daughters toys. In my mind, that is well worth the price.
