I only get a write speed of 540 MB/s and a read speed of 1.5 GB/s and the price dropped rapidly after I bought but I was unable to cancel my order despite over a week of delays before shipping

Finally being able to grab a PS5, my next purchase was to get some additional memory, since the new console really doesn’t have much. Installation is pretty easy, the PS5 recognized it immediately and formatted it within a couple minutes. After setting this as the default storage for the console, I installed several games with no issues. Installs were fairly quick, with the exception of downloads taking their time for digital games or in my case, updates after installing the disk version. This memory has good speed and having used a Samsung SSD as a computer boot drive for years, I know the memory is reliable. The memory also has a good 5-year warranty, which may get tested in a console. I do think these are a bit pricy even on sale, but if you play a lot of console games, a necessary purchase.

So far Great Very Easy PS5 Install and Formatting!! Fast Enough at 6489 write speed would like to Know if my firmware is updated enuf or will not Kill my PS5 memory Stick like the reported Pc Issue with the firmware starting in number 3…..! Ive been using m.2 since the first generation! Make no mistake, ALL m.2 storage devices are FAST! this baby is simply a delightful indulgence. Do my apps/games run noticeably faster than first gen m.2? In most cases, no. But for file intensive operations, this device is a show off! And to be able to buy 2tb at less than $200 is a complete steal. Stop reading these reviews already and get one.

The PS5 has a less than adequate storage capacity for the modern gaming age. Considering that the average game size is between 50-100gb, and there are some even more massive (call of duty >200gb’s) expanding the storage was absolutely necessary.

Purchased this product for the PS5. Heard about firmware issue. Saw recent youtube by Jayztwocents who showed that if drive is manufactured in Vietnam in Dec 22, then it already has the latest firmware which corrects the issue of corruption-this issue appears to apply to drives manufactured in 21 in Korea. The drive I received from Amazon was manufactured in Vietnam in Dec 2022. I did not bother to check firmware. Very easy to install with second party heatsink. PS5 reported read speed of 6667mps. I have no regrets purchasing this drive.

Bought this to expand the storage in my PS5 with games getting larger and larger these days. It slotted right in with no issues on fit, even with the heatsink. Transfer speeds for game installs is lightning fast and I no longer have to worry about picking and choosing which games I have installed to make sure that I dont lack the space for any patches or anything. Would recommend.
