I specifically bought this unit because I wanted a fast back up solution for a brand new Dell Laptop I just purchased. Back up speed, coming straight from an SSD hard drive in my new laptop, is nowhere close to advertised speed. 30% slower than max advertised. Very disappointed.

When I went to access my tax files, the drive came up as unformatted. I tried different usb ports and another computer but it always ended as unformatted. I was able to find a recovery tool and managed to retrieve my files. I tried Disk Drill which found the files but wanted a hefty sum to retrieve the files. Next, I had success with RUndelete which is free and much faster than Disk Drill. I have made a backup copy and placed it on an HDD as well as this Samsung SSD.

If your drive fails, be ready for an extremely long wait for Samsung to replace it!

Works just as fast as the internal SSD. I love it.

I used this hard drive for my Tesla cam, and it went out within a year. The drive cannot be read anymore by the car and I have to buy a new one. Very annoyed that it burned out that quickly.

This quality ssd external hd is very compact but is fast another quality product from Samsung

This has been a great little portable drive for me. I did not experience any of the issues described by others.

Great speeds. I run windows 10 and my entire computer off of it and it runs 3x faster than my internal hdd.
