Very happy with the speed and capacity, but Im having second thoughts regarding the price and what you get when compared to similar drives. Granted, I got it mostly because of the warranty and a hopefully better product to trust my data on, so thats what I was actually putting my money, not really on performance. Using it as a boot/home drive in a desktop with Linux and btrfs, there is no noticeable day-to-day difference when compared with a drive from the budget or OEM/enterprise series of SanDisk.

SanDisk Extreme PRO SSD 480GB My ssd from sanddisk ran flawlessly for 6 months. Then it died. I called sandisk support and the RMA was set up right away. Very happy with this response. Shipped it out the next day and sandisk responded they received it the day after. Here is where my issues started. I am not sure how they won Gartners 2014 award for customer support. Waited five days and saw no response from sandisk. Did a chat session. They said to give it a few more days. Called back three days later with no update to my RMA. Was informed as I have read in some other reviews that they were out of stock. I asked iwhy they did not tell me that at the RMA time or when I called back. They said they would send an email or contact to corporate to expedite the issue. Give them 24 - 48 hours. Called the following Monday and had a hard time understanding the support person who took my call. She checked and hey said that they would follwo up. No response... Called again today on Wednesday. Well they were still waiting for corporate to respond. Asked to talk to the supervisor. Supervisor called me back. Said he would respond back with an email in 2 - 3 hours. No response. They dont realize even though I tried to have then recognize that I need my replacement ssd. This is not how you treat customers. The ssd was fast and efficient till they day it died. Bought their ssd to not have any more failures on the boot drive. I dont understand how they cannot get drives to replace RMA/dead drives. Not sure why they cannot escalate this. I bought a Samsung SSD that this one competes with for my daughter. The samsung is running fine with no problems.

first time using this; before I was using their ultra2 cheaper units. biggest diff: the pro clocks in at about 550mb/sec for BOTH read and write! on the ultra2 its 500 or so on read but 350 or so on write. I will buy the pro, from now on. also, I avoid s*sung evo stuff and even their pro stuff, so this was one of my only choices for high end consumer grade ssd

Holy cow this is a game changer. Not only was it quick and easy to install (and Im no technical magician either) but the results far exceed my expectations. Toshiba Satellite Radius P55W laptop with dual-core i7 Intel processor and 8 GB of RAM now boots up in under a minute and apps launch instantly. My laptop (1 year old at the time of this writing) is good but is known for its slow mechanical hard drive. I am still in disbelief. No issues with the cloning process. I closed the case, screwed on the cover, booted up the machine and the speed boost was instant with zero glitches.

This hard drive has great transfer rates. I really liked that Sandisk has software that lets you be in control, when youre running Windows 8 they recognize that the prefetch/superfetch, trim, and disk optimization is handled automatically by the OS so they dont walk you through redundant tweaks. The channel saturation is very nice, it keeps the sata 3 running at its highest capacity. The disk is stable, and the 10 year warranty is great peace of mind. If I run into any issues Ill update this review, but so far Im impressed by the speed and ease of setup.

Works flawlessly with my Gigabyte GA-Z97X 3 motherboard. Very quick load times (comparable to my old Samsung Pro 850 drive. I used Marcium Reflect to clone my existing spindle-based HDD to the SanDisk. So I cannot attest to the SanDisk cloning software that you can download from their website. For the price, this SSD is really a no brainer. Im very, very happy and plan to buy more for other machines in my office.

I bought this drive to replace an aging Raptor drive which I feared was failing after 10 years of solid use. My Raptor drive was only 74 GB and was so heavily strapped with the excessive Windows 7 64 bit load, that I had to move all of my resource intense programs (Video Games) to a secondary drive. Even after doing this, every time a Windows update popped up, I would have to go through and make space on the drive for the computer to run properly. Out with the old and in with the new. I purchased this drive along with the Corsair 600Q quiet case with the hopes of cutting down on noise as well as improving operation. I had no desire to purchase a new Windows operating system so my plan was to backup the Raptor onto the SanDisk. My original plan was to achieve this by using the method of backing up to an external drive and then rebuild onto the new drive. I actually started down this path until I loaded the Dashboard program onto the drive. This is when I noticed that the drive came with a one time use drive transfer program. Rather than looking a gift horse in the mouth, I took at shot at using what was intended to be a simpler process. I have to admit that I was impressed at the ease of installation of the SanDisk drive with the provided software. I started up the program, answered a few basic questions, and hit execute. Thinking that there would be something else to do at this point, I waited for the next prompt. After a minute I felt pretty safe that the prompt was not coming so I headed off to mow the lawn thinking I had a few hours to kill. After about 30 minutes I came back in to find, much to my surprise, that it was more than 60% complete. Twenty minutes later, before I was done weed eating, the program was done. Power down, disconnect the Raptor, and reboot. My system started up immediately, just like it did before...with one exception, no more 10k RPM whine from the old Raptor drive. To date I am extremely happy with purchase and would strongly recommend the SanDisk Extreme PRO to any of my friends.

Samsung Pro has double the endurance specification (marketing?) and half the warranty for their Pro TLC drives. Most enterprise drives use MLC memory so I came to the conclusion that it is better. I pick this up on Amazon Warehouse deals. Had one terabyte written in its previous life. Dash board shows the wear out to be 0.26%. Still has the 10 year warranty when I went to register the drive. Well worth it for an additional fifty dollar savings at the time.

There is not a lot new here that I am going to be able to share, that many others have already shared in these reviews. This SanDisk Extreme Pro is currently the Performance favorite at the Toms Hardware website, and the reviews tell the deeper story. I have the 480 GB version of this drive, and I purchased it to use as my Operating System drive in a new Intel based Z97 Computer, and did not want to go with a PCIe X 4 M.2 Drive quite yet. Having already used the Samsung and Crucial SSD SATA drives in the recent past, I decided to read up and see if there was anything else new to research, and I came upon the reviews for this drive. Yes, the Samsung is a great SSD, and is faster in short data bursts, but if you are doing any heavy duty data transfer or processing, this is the SSD to go with. The SanDisk Extreme Pro will tear through large random data transfers and maintain high speed and not get bogged down. Using this SSD to load Windows 7 Pro for the first time was incredible due to a very short load and set up time. This SSD is a real powerhouse, and the 10 year warranty is pretty nice too. Very glad I purchased this, but I will be looking for a PCIe X 4 M.2 SSD to make things even faster. I want to see SanDisks entry into that Market, which I believe will explode soon.
