> 3 dayIts added up to a good chunk of cash, but this is the second 960GB SanDisk Extreme PRO I have bought. The first one Ive valued so much, that I took the plunge (while the prices have been VERY low!) for another. The main aspects of this drive that I really value: It should last over the long-haul. Its 960GB instead of 1TB for a reason...and thats partially due to durability. That, along with it being designed to sustain its performance over a much longer period of time, and Im pretty pleased with the long-term usefulness of this. Will faster SSDs become more common over time? Of course. But this unit is already very fast, and thats even for heavy video & image-sequence usage. Ive had some hard drives for years and years, and I think this will be an even more solid investment for a long time to come...with long-term durability in mind.

> 3 dayi7 Quad Core/ 16GB/ MacBook Pro early 2011. Has worked flawlessly. Apps like Mail and iPhoto that took 30/50 secs respectively to load (I have lots of mail and photos), now launch in 3/5 seconds. Used USB Sata cable and Carbon Copy Cloner to copy system to drive, swapped drives and everything worked, all licenses transferred (except Google Drive needed to be rebuilt). Speed tests (Blackmagic) Show average 515 MB/sec read and 435 MB/sec write. No degradation in speed from first test (a few weeks ago) till now. I think Apple tests their OS with flash drives, so as they increase the Input/Output read write counts when adding features/security protections, they dont notice the issues caused in systems with using hard disks. If you have Yosemite, you need a drive like this. Unfortunately, because apple doesnt support Trim for macs w/3rd party SSDs, you should also plan to replace your drive every year. I do upgrade my drive each year, as I need lots of speed and space. The last three were hybrid SSD/HDD (512MB Seagate/1TB Seagate/1TB Toshiba). The hybrids were slightly faster than a 7200 RPM disk initially, but after a year, each was slower than a stock clean 5400 RPM.

> 3 dayI replaced my 2010 15 MBPs original 500 GB hard drive with this, and the results are, so far, outstanding. I can actually login/logout and open programs quickly and none of the clicking / spinning / reading / writing of the old one. It was so quiet I couldnt believe the computer was working! Hopefully it was give me a few more good years from this machine, but time will tell. For the moment, though - the performance gain seems incredible. Cant believe I didnt do this earlier.

> 3 dayI cant say whether this is the hard drives problem or not but my computer repair had to purchase another SSD drive to get my computer to boot. This drive is now a secondary drive but I dont know why it originally got corrupted and my computer wouldnt boot. Sandisk has always run well for me and this is the first issue I have had.

> 3 dayFast and reliable SSD with a 10-year warranty. Better than Samsung SSD in software as Samsung cloning does not support non-Samsung recovery partitions. So if you want to clone your disk to ssd and keep say a Sony revovery partition, the Sandisk comes with Acronis WD edition that supports cloning/resizing all partitions from source to destination drive. One note, that since it is a WD edition of Acronis, it will not install if it doeasnt detect Sandisk/WD drive. So make sure your external USB to SATA does not hide the name of the drive(like in Device manager) otherwise Acronis will not install. I had bought a Dugol enclosure that did that and it did not work with acronis. I had to use my old Rosewill enclosure to get it to work. After cloning my original disk to it, I installed the Sandisk Extreme pro in my Sony laptop and it worked flawlessly and it is very fast!

> 3 daySamsung Pro has double the endurance specification (marketing?) and half the warranty for their Pro TLC drives. Most enterprise drives use MLC memory so I came to the conclusion that it is better. I pick this up on Amazon Warehouse deals. Had one terabyte written in its previous life. Dash board shows the wear out to be 0.26%. Still has the 10 year warranty when I went to register the drive. Well worth it for an additional fifty dollar savings at the time.

> 3 dayI had no idea just how much faster my computer would be with this hard drive. Its one thing to intellectually know the difference in speeds between a spinning platter and flash memory, but to actually experience it is something completely different. If you want to use it in a PC, you might want to get a mounting bracket to make it fit in a full size bay, as this is a 2.5 inch drive, but it should fit perfectly into a laptop drive bay. Also, a Google search on optimizing your OS for running on an SSD could serve you well. A modern OS does many things to improve traditional hard drive efficiency that will have no effect on an SSD, and might even use it up more quickly. Pro tip: Make sure you have plenty of RAM and then disable Virtual Memory. Or use a standard hard drive for Virtual Memory, but I prefer the first option.

> 3 dayAn amazing drive!, it gave new life to my good ol Macbook Pro Late 2011 w/8gb ram. Ive been using only for about 24 hours but here is the review: the drive is so fast that the computer feels faster than when it was new, I can even preview my 4K videos recorded from my phone and also fixed the photos app crash while trying to import a bunch of said videos. (it seems the old original drive was on borrowed time) The only downside of this drive, and the reason of the 4 stars instead of 5, is that the software to update the firmware is windows only, thus, not possible to use it on a mac (or linux for that matter).

Greater than one weekPros: Fast out-of-the-box, reliable, warrantied, decent amount of space Cons: Slows under real conditions, no cable included I ordered this on January 8, 2016 from Amazon.com LLC after my previous SSD, a
