Ease of installation

Super easy to install. It took my father-in-law less than 15 minutes to install. It took him longer to get the older (non-Schlage) lever off. My old lever had several different parts but this lock had a few parts that were easy to just put in. FIL didn’t even read the instructions.

I ordered the Shlage handle and knob set in nickle, to go with the smart lock I had installed. It replaces a handle and knob that had a lock in it and was no longer needed with the smart lock. The Shlage handle has a much more solid feel to it than my old brass handle that was hollow on the inside curve of the handle. If you choose to get a set with a lever handle on the inside, read carefully and get the right one for your door, as the interior handle is not reversible on Shlage sets. If you are on the outside and the hinges are on the left, you have a right handed door. Hinges on the right mean its left handed. Dont pay attention to the product photo which can be deceptive. Or you can do what I did and just get one with a knob on the inside and make it easier. Im very satisfied with mine.

These entrance door handles are beautiful, add class and feel sturdy in your hand. The lower mounting point did not match the original handle so there was some repair and repaint of the doors but it was worth it. Needed two and wanted to guarantee they matched so bought two functional units and left the guts out of one. Plus it was cheaper than the dummy unit.

This item met expectations and is sturdy. The latch is strong and secures the door.
