Seachem Purigen Organic Filtration Resin - Fresh and Saltwater 100 ml

This product Purigen works! My water was dark and cloudy next day it was clear! What more could I say. I just put the Purigen bag into my filter compartment. After I rinsed it in distilled water I personally did cause I did want to put chlorinated tap water in my tank. I only have a 8 gallon tank saltwater aquarium not big but successful and also use Seachem prime. Great product that works!

I have a 55 freshwater tank w/ about 25 fish (mostly tetras, but also a golden rainbow, a rainbow shark, a betta, a 3 spotted gourami and a hybrid cyclid. I have ALWAYS had a problem w/ hi nitrates (my ammonia and nitrites levels are always good) and I treat the water w/ Prime, but those pesky nitrates are an ongoing battle even w/ water changes! I came across this product and figured it was too good to be true, but for the $8, it was certainly worth trying - holy crap, in 48 hours, I had crystal clear water (which wasnt bad to begin w/ ,but again - WOW) and my nitrates were down to 0!! Now, they have not stayed that low, but they are MUCH lower than they ever have been before. And yes, Im sure my battles are due to the amount of fish and the amount of food which I have really cut back on (the food that is), but again, no significant improvement until this product. I also have researched and watched videos on the recharging process. I have not yet done this and dont know if I will considering its basically 1.5 - 2 day process and for the minimal cost, I may just re-purchase - we will see. I have removed all carbon filters from my Fluval 360 so wont have that cost anymore. I wish I had found this 3 years ago when I first started w/ my tank - I (and my fish) are VERY happy campers!

Works great, if you want clear water buy this, you wont regret it.

My aquarium was having a severe issue with cloudy water, even after cleaning the tank and filters. I added a pouch of this miracle product and literally overnight the problem was gone! I keep some on hand in case it ever happens again.

I had purchased a small piece of mopani driftwood for my 12 gallon Fluval Edge aquarium in my office at work. The driftwood quickly stained the water and made it tea colored. I did a 50% water change and placed the Purigen pack in my aquarium in front of the filter water return (I rigged the purigen pouch up with zip ties because this was too large to fit in my filter). I did this on a Sunday and the remaining water was still a tad murkey and yellow. I returned on Monday morning to sparkling crystal clear water - will be buying a second to use when regenerating the first pouch!

This product I had a feeling was going to work. I just kept hearing about it. Wish I used it starting out. It made the water that was ok clear to crystal clear in 12 hours. Then after 2 days it brought my nitrates from 60 to 40. I use 500ml in two bags in one HOB on the top level and it fits fine. I have a 125 gallon tank that is a bit over stocked. Not too bad. Using two bags with 250ml in each not only can I recharge one while the other is in it, the life of each will last very long.

Like many people, I was confused when I received this product because it was very different to what I usually purchase in the store. The mesh bag was longer and and the package it came in was a lot larger. After seeing many 1-2 star reviews claiming the product was counterfeit, I decided to reach out directly to Seachem. Heres what they said: We did briefly try out a a new bagging method for the Purigen packs. However, we have since gone back to the older version. It is not counterfeit! Simply a change from Seachem. Since it is online however, there is no telling whether you will receive the original size or this trial change. For people who expect specific dimensions this could be inconvenient. To sum up, I managed to accommodate for the different sized bag, and needless to say it is working just as spectacularly as I remember Purity working.

I bought driftwood and boiled it several times and let it soak. Still after putting in driftwood I had tannins in the water which is great but not appealing to look at. I have a 10 gallon and I just put the whole bag (after rinsing in aquarium water) in my tiny HOB filter. Not only did it clear my water, it completely removed ammonia and nitrites and reduced nitrates. Pictures do the proof.
