I purchased this product as an alternative to Dynamat Xtreme because it was slightly cheaper and included Prime one day shipping. I already completed the inner and outer door skins on 3 doors with the Xtreme, but I needed some additional CDL sheets to complete the 4th door. I was very happy with the project up to that point and was pleased that my car did not have a strong butyl or asphalt smell like some of the products I have used in the past. It still had that pleasant new car smell. The addition of Second Skin Damplifier changed all that. Although this product has good adhesion and it is easy to work with, it has a very distinctive odor. Close to a month has passed and the smell has not even begun to fade. It is the first thing I notice every time I get into the car. The smell is so strong that I even disposed of the left over tiles that I had stored for future use since that was all I could smell in the storage area as well. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra few dollars to get the Xtreme or one of the many other odorless alternatives.

Easy to install, just make sure you have a roller, and take your time! Product works great!

I wanted a sound deadener for underside of riding mower hood, I choose this because it was recommended for under hood higher temps and I wanted something with a black color which I thought would be better than a reflective color as I didnt want to reflect heat back onto the engine. I used denatured alcohol to wipe the areas clean as possible first then used some 12 aluminum foil to make a template, marked the sheets and cut them for some curved edged sections. I slit the backing at the center and peeled and folded back the middle and lined it up with center alignment marks then a small wood roller to press it down and adhere it, peeling more area of the backing in small steps and got it down well that way. Two diagonal cuts in 2 sheets made up better irregular coverage (4) pieces for the sides of the hood. I actually used the 2mm, 4 sheet kit, I bought directly from their site.

Amazon, being the Chinese/Russian junk dealer that it is, sells endless copies of the real USA made Second Skin. Not only are people supporting China and Russia buying that junk, but they are using crap products that get good reviews because most people have no idea what the good stuff even is. Ive used them all over many years of install work and NOTHING BEATS USA MADE SOUND DAMPENING PRODUCTS! I only buy this, DEI, BQuiet, Cascade and sometimes Dynamat if its priced on sale. No other fake import brands matters in this industry. Take it from a pro! Im giving this 4 stars though because I dont think it works as well as their pro version which is thicker and much heavier feeling. This stuff is just too light.

I installed this mat in my wives Mustang. It is easy to work with, cuts easily with scissors, and works well. Using a roller is an absolute must. It made the new speakers I installed sound great.

Great product. It cuts easily and sticks well. It does smell for a few weeks, but after a month the odor has gone away.
