    Greater than one week

Easy to use, comes apart easily for cleaning and using just hose. Incredible suction, cleans carpets better than all the expensive Vacuums we’ve tried (Dyson, etc). Great value, we’ll see how it lasts, but I highly recommend this vacuum after many pricey disappointments.

Ill start by saying this is an incredible vacuum. We have dogs (two doodles) and thick carpet as well as laminate flooring with area rugs. Before this, we had a cheaper Hoover (under 150$). I felt it was not doing a sufficient job so I started reading up on higher end vacs. I landed on this one after seeing reviews showing this vacuum beating out Dysons and anything else put up against it. They said it was excellent for both carpet and hardwood, and was the best at picking up hair without the beater getting tangled. These were all true, so here are my pros and cons: Pros: -Great suction. The pic shows the reservoir being full...this was from JUST a 12x12 thick carpeted room, 5 MINUTES after vacuuming the same room with my Hoover. -I do not have any issues on our very thick carpet with the vacuum sucking too hard and making it tough to push. I saw some reviews that state that...they likely pushed the button and have the beater turned off so it wont pull itself, or they have it set to the wrong flooring type. This is the main reason I chose this over a Dyson, I have seen far more reviews on Dysons being very tough to push. -LOVE the maneuverability. You can pop the whole canister off and carry it, or just the top and use the hose attached to the vac. Also very easy to turn and go under tables and stuff. -No fanning. What I mean is that with every other vacuum Ive used, if you were on a hard surface, the beater put out so much air that it just blows all the dust and debris out of the way so you never suck it up. This works awesome on hardwood when you put it in that mode, and only one beater spins to pick up debris. Cons: -This thing is ugly as hell. The engineer that designed the functionality features is a genius. I believe after they designed it, they let a 90 year old lady choose the color scheme. Seriously, why would you have a grey vac, with rose gold touches and a blue roller? If I had shopped in store I wouldnt have even considered a vacuum at this price point with those colors solely based on looks. Dysons are so much more appealing if youre simply going off looks. -Reservoir size. The reservoir is fricken tiny. If you have a large house or more than one dog, you will either need to vacuum every week or empty the canister a couple times during use. Only the front and top portions of the canister are actually to collect debris, most of it is taken up by the motor. -The cord. Yeah, its super long which is great. But why are we still making cords the EXACT length to where you have to wind it up super loose to attach the plug to another cord. Make it 2 shorter or longer, so annoying. -Wheels. The back wheels are stupid. Theyre tiny plastic wheels that wannabe a dyson ball but arent. If rolls around like a ball, but when turning one of the wheels lifts off the floor and its like youre kind of lifting the vacuum. I believe their goal was to mimic a Dyson ball without infringing on patents, but its a cheesy way to do so. As you can see, my cons are slightly petty but still sort of annoying. Luckily, a vacuum isnt particularly for pleasing the eye. Overall this is awesome vacuum in terms of functionality, and I would highly recommend to any friends or family to snag one of these if they can afford it.

I am beyond in love with this vacuum! I will never be buying a 80$ vacuum again there’s a reason you’re paying as much as you do for this state of the art cleaning technology. I have always looked for an easy to clean vacuum that help pick up all dirt especially in carpets. Being someone with asthma this machine has definitely helped minimize all dust in my home! I feel like I’m in an easy breathing environment after bringing this to my home. I will be recommending this vacuum to everyone especially pet owners and people with children it helps keep the house safe and clean

My biggest gripe is how short the hose is. You can’t just undo the hose from the machine and use the furniture attachment without tipping it over as you try to clean the sofa or even just a recliner. You basically have to detach the vacuum canister from the floor unit and tote it around anytime you want to do something like that. A minor gripe is that there is no place to store even one attachment on the machine. Every time you want to do a crack or crevice or furniture you have to stop and go back to the last place you left them unless you wear a tool belt to store the attachments. I do like the job the dual brush does on the floor, both hard and carpet. The soft brush does a really nice job on the wood floors. And it does pick up the pet hair great, if you can catch it. This next gripe is not unique to this vacuum, but has been an issue with every upright I have ever had. The exhaust comes straight out the front. So the cat hair I was just about to vacuum up all the sudden is no longer there It may be more noticeable with this vacuum because it is so powerful. If it is creating a strong suction because it is moving a lot of air, that air has to go somewhere. But why does it have to go out the front. I cant be the only one who has noticed this. Why cant the designers vent it out the back or something. Like I said, this is not unique to this vacuum, they all seem that way. Finally, the dust bin is really skinny and hair gets stuck up at the top ( I have many pets), and I have to go get my back scratcher to teach up and dislodge it to get it out of the bin.

Im adding to the previous review. Ive now had this sweeper 1 year, 10 months. The sweeper is still doing its job well, but I have had to replace two parts. 2 months ago I had to replace the extension wand, something in it that supplies the power to the sweeper head (floor nozzle) went bad. It was a $30 fix. Today, my replacement floor nozzle arrived. I noticed in the last month that the power fins completely wore down, and a few days ago the beater bar stopped spinning entirely. Replacement past was $90. Please note that I have a large house and sweep both bare and carpeted floors on a daily basis, so it is definitely getting a workout. I still have no regrets about buying this sweeper. Previous review: Ive had this sweeper for over a year now. It does what its supposed to do. However its hard to use on stairs because the hose isnt that long or flexible. This is my 2nd Shark. Kids broke the first one. I havent been disappointed in the brand yet.

    - IN A GOOD WAY! So, I just received this vacuum and WOW. Its super easy to put together. Super easy to change attachments. I am very pleased how easily it transitions from carpet to hard floor. I vacuumed my whole 3000 sq foot house, couches, stairs & mattress yesterday! No hair was wrapped around the brushes after I finished. The attachments are a god send for stairs. I have a 90s model Kirby and this thing has more suction than that! It IS somewhat heavy but the ease of removing the canister and vacuuming in separate parts help - (also easy to get under the beds & things while separated.) Plus, this is why it is so powerful = bigger motor. It came with a hepa filter and 2 washable filters. The dirt bin is very easy to clean under water. The power cord was plenty long enough. Anyway, I love it so far. Will update if that changes.

This vacuum is more powerful and doesn’t get tangled from dog hair like our Dyson did

I have been on the hunt for the “perfect” (BUDGET) vacuum. I have tested sooo many of them, and have been let down nearly every time. We have 6 dogs and a cat, which include a GSD and rottie, who leave trails of hair wherever they lay. Theres just so. much. hair. All the time. No matter how often I vacuum. Ive been using a Bissell Cleanview, which I actually really like and it does a pretty decent job. BUT, for some reason, nearly every month, I have to replace the belt because it loosens to the point that the roller stops spinning mid-vacuum. I would suck it up and replace the belt monthly IF it didnt involve disassembling the whole underneath of the vacuum to do so. Its such an ordeal that Im just over it. My original vacuum cleaner when I moved out many years ago was a Shark. When it died, I replaced it with another newer model, and that seemed to die on me much quicker. Again, I replaced it with another Shark, and when that went on me too, I swore off Sharks. Most recently, I tried a Hoover, another Bissell, and even a Miele. I came across the Vertex, and was curious. It was much more expensive then I wanted to spend, but curiousity got the best of me. I was honestly hoping to hate it, so I wouldnt have to mull it over about returning it. Well.... it wont be going back. Shark has FINALLY redeemed themselves. Even with the cons, it does such an amazing job that it is totally worth it. The cord doesnt auto-rewind. The tank is ridiculously small. Its hard to manuveur. And despite these things, it picks up SO much that every other other vacuum left behind. I ran each of the Hoover Pet Max Complete, the Bissell Pet Hair Eraser Turbo Rewind, and the Miele Compact C1 Turbo Team Canister Vacuum in separate rooms. I then went over each room with the Vertex. Each room gave me nearly a full tank on the Vertex, except the Miele, which was about a quarter full. I then ran the rubber hair remover brush over the carpet in each room. The Vertex picked up SO much, that the floors were nearly completely hair free. Shark has finally redeemed themselves in the vacuum world, in my eyes. Perhaps I’m desiring what no vacuum could truly offer- but I was hoping for better. I still think it is very good. But I can still sometimes see hair left after like covering an area. Perhaps this is hair from the depths of the carpet…it may have sucked it from the surface and with its power brought the remaining visible hair from the Jericho Valley of my carpet. Otherwise, it is heavy and powerful- so can be a bit unwieldy. Sometimes as you bring it back up from its vacuum position, there is this moment before the click that it tries to run away from you. It’s a bit of a task for the stairs, but otherwise I haven’t found that to be too much of an issue. For how spendy it was, I was hoping it would solve all my life’s cleaning problems…but it turned out to be just a pretty good vacuum.
