Silicon Power Black 1TB Rugged Portable External Hard Drive Armor A60, Shockproof USB 3.0 for PC, Mac, Xbox and PS4, Black

This is the first external hard drive Ive bought - I need it for a photography class - and so far I can say Im happy with my purchase! Its really nice and small, appears to be as shockproof as it claims, and I particularly like the wraparound usb cord storage. Very excited to start putting my photos on this! Extra bonus is that it can be formatted for both Mac and Windows. Ill need to use it with Macs during this photography class, but then Ill have the option of reformatting it after Im done to use it in the future with my PC.

Just what I needed to make sure I do those computer backups that I never did! Plugs right into the USB port of my desktop computer, and I just leave it attached. Made a shortcut to it and put it on my desktop, so all I have to do is drag and drop my important stuff onto the shortcut! Especially good for my huge Microsoft Outlook archive and PST files! Gives me the option to just copy it (again) or replace the one thats already there.

I have purchased quite a few Silicone Power shock proof external hard drives and I couldnt be happier with them. They are extremely easy to use, have the perfect amount of storage for what I need them for and the size is very convenient for travel. Plus, I have never had any issues with the ones that have inadvertently got away from me and crashed to the floor. The armor is completely effective. The seller always gets the product out in a timely manner. Even with the current delays in deliveries all over the nation due to Covid-19 and the Christmas season, I received my latest package a day early. They are amazing.

Recieved the EHD in a timely manner which I greatly appreciate, upon opening the package i was pleasantly surprised by the sleek look and the quality feel of it. My previous hd had experienced a few minor falls and had developed a clicking noise which led me to buy a new harddrive and i opted for a shockproof one, I dont plan to test their claims on how well it withstands falls but in case it does happen, looking at the armor it has and the solid build I feel like it will do its job well. As to transfer rate speeds, this external harddrive blows anything ive previously owned out of the water. Thank you Silicon Power for another quality product :)

Great product so far, knock on wood. I spent a lot of money on more expensive units just have them crash a few months later. Doing pretty good with this product so far. I used tons of data

At first a number of file folders became corrupted and inaccessible. Eventually, I lost all my data and the disk just said it needed to be reformatted. fortunately it was backed up on a different hard disk. This disk wasnt very old for totally biting the dust. Ive never had this problem with an external drive before and have some that are over a decade old and still work fine.

Im extremely disappointed with this product. After initially purchasing in 2015, I had no issues with the drive until recently. About a month ago I attempted to retrieve some old data from this drive; within minutes of plugging in the drive, I was informed all of my data on the drive was corrupt - over 300gbs of highly important historical data. I was able to purchase recovery software, which thankfully recovered >90% of all my lost data, however, ever since then, my external hard drive has been rendered useless, essentially failing to transfer any information after reformatting and attempting to wipe clean any and all data. Ive reached out to Silicon Power to go through their warranty process - Ill update this review accordingly depending on the outcome of the customer service provided. DONT EXPECT THIS DRIVE TO KEEP YOUR DATA SAFE. UPDATE - It has been a month now since I completed the initial warranty process and shipped my hard drive to their location in California. On their website theyve indicated, they have not received the hard drive, although I find this highly unlikely given the amount of time since I shipped the device. I also called their customer support number which resulted in no one answering the phone...Dont buy from these guys. Period.

This hard drive storage unit is AMAZING !! I have loaded 251 CDs on it and it barely moved the remaining storage left needle! I have over 100,000 pictures to put on and Im sure that to will be handled just fine! It has been suggested to me to get another hard drive to back up what I have stored just in case of some unexpected disaster. Good advice!! I highly recommend this product not only for the tons of storage but the price was very good and Amazon paid the shipping!!! Good Deal !!

I have had no problems with this. Its functioning as my auto-backup for my computer and works well. The cord holder is kind of gimmicky. It will pop out and its something that my dog would eat without a second thought if he found it on the floor. If you are really into cord systems, this probably isnt a great cord system. I like the fact that there is a rubbery plastic piece that covers the usb plug, which helps to keep out dust and some (maybe) environmental moisture, but it isnt a weather proof seal by any means. This should work fine for people who dont have extreme requirements for their external hard drive. It seems like it would travel well and I like the lime green color.
