> 3 dayIt works well when a router is close to it. The wifi that is built in is very weak. My phone will have no issues and 3-4 bars, but the plug wont connect. Pretty much has to be line of sight to the router.

> 3 dayI have one of these that works great, but the 2nd one I bought is faulty. If you press the side button to turn it on or off, the LED light on the plug changes, but it never actually turns the power on or off on the plug. Using the app to turn the switch on or results in the same behavior.

> 3 day**UPDATE: The VeSync app has been fixed. My VeSync smart home devices are working great again! Ive found VeSync devices to occasionally be laggy (switching within ~5 seconds after app button press), but most of the time switching is immediate. This may be because Im using HomeAssistant now more than the VeSync app. For a 3rd party server-based IoT ecosystem, this smart plug does everything I need. Previous post: I have a LOT of these smart plugs. Ive been buying them over the last couple of years to add to my collection of IoT devices. However, the mobile app was updated a couple months ago, and since then its almost completely unusable. Any time I try and do anything in the VeSync app to control these plugs, I get the error: The server is busy. Please try again later. Im a professional mobile app developer, and I know my way around mobile apps and how to troubleshoot them. Nothing Ive tried seems to help. Unfortunately, this means that a large chunk of my smart home is no longer usable. I should have bought the TP Link Kasa plugs and switches instead.

Greater than one weekI updated router and now I cannot connect this device and another Etekcity product. It is a WiFi6 router but has 2.4G channels. Maybe it needs a fireware update but cannot connect it.

> 3 dayBest apartment purchase for an AC wall unit that doesnt regulate its own temp. Can turn on when I am ready to head home and can turn off when the temperature is at just the right level.

> 3 dayI have the old round ones and they work perfectly but these ones do not. I put a schedule on it but it just turned on and off whenever it wanted not following the schedule at all. I then thought that maybe the schedule was bugged so I deleted it but it still turns off and on at random times.

> 3 dayI have had several of the earlier smart Etekcity outlets (without night light) and like them a lot. What I didnt realize about this newer version is that you can separately program the schedule for the night light and the outlet. Now if the outlet controls a light near the device or if there is natural or artificial light from another source, the night light will not go on, which makes sense. The bottom line is this is a very versatile and useful device and I really like it!
