SmartGames Trucky 3 Wooden Skill-Building Puzzle Game Moving Trucks for Ages 3+

My niece uses these in her kindergarten class, so I purchased one for my granddaughters (3 and 5). You can tell the one with engineer mind, she’ll spend hours figuring out the puzzle

My grandsons really enjoyed it. The one whod spent a lot of time on Smart Games Bunny Boo probably enjoyed its colorful inventiveness more. Id suggest bring along a toy knight or two to create an additional play element with it.

Great quality materials. As a mom I love this type of puzzle. My son is 3 years old and this is a little advanced for him right now, but once he gets the hang of it itll teach him a lot!! If you like problem solving this is perfect for little ones!

The idea behind this toy is that there are a handful of pieces that can be constructed into different configurations that arent always obvious in the puzzle book provided. The children must try to replicate the designs based on what they know about how the pieces fit together. I admire the idea behind this, but my kids (5 and 2.5) are completely uninterested in it. They each opened the box once, and quickly became bored with its contents even after I showed them the puzzles and worked through the first one with them. I think this is because there are so few pieces (4 blocks and 3 towers), so there is little room for imaginative construction. It kind of feels like homework. There are other building toys that have pictures of a constructed building, or plane, or elephant or whatever that similarly encourages kids to use logic skills, although the ads for those other toys dont highlight that fact. Those other toys also allow more imaginative play. Some examples of those are Lego, Magnatiles, and Wedgits. Of those, my kids like Magnatiles the best - building complicated structures with them daily. But if you want something that emphasizes the logic aspect most, Id go with Wedgits. They have hidden blocks in some of the constructions, so kids have to figure out how to position the blocks using basic logic and engineering skills. With Wedgits though, there is still a lot of room for experimentation and creating novels designs and structures.

We are collecting these SmartGames. We have this truck one, the Three Little Pigs one, the SpaceShip one, and the Red Riding Hood one so far. We are happy with all three, but the Trucky one engages our 4 year old the longest. With all the games, we first play it 2-4 times by the rules. We each take turns solving a puzzle. When its the adults turn, our 4 year old cant help but engage during that time also, and help. Then we make-believe it and just play however our little boy wants to make-believe with it, we follow his lead. We can see him study the shape of the truck, and fit the block shapes into it with increasing geometric problem-solving skills. These are all extremely well-made puzzle-type games. Each page in the little booklet gives you a problem to solve, and on the next page in the solution. Highly recommend for your stem-game collection.

My four-year-old loves these! Kept her occupied for hours. Got up to the master level in a couple of weeks. Very good game. Good for building budding engineers.

I am very happy with this purchase. My daughter loves Castle Logix. She took to the game immediately and has enjoyed showing off her castles. It doesnt keep her attention for more than 30 minutes on a good day, but it does challenge her. I expect the game will continue to challenge her for the next few months and then Ill order Camelot Jr.
