this thing works great , there is almost no smell out of it and it seems to be well made , I dont know if it would take a drop on to asphalt but I guess you should not have in your car . the only issue I have is that it is a single use product . once the filter is clogged its done . for me this lasted about 6 months , but I dont enjoy myself as much as others do . after a while I noticed it was very hard to blow into it but I did get it to last a little longer by shaking it up a little , it seemed to loosen the carbon thats inside . I would give it 5 stars if I was able to replace the carbon inside .

Helps to reduce smells significantly, just wish the filter was changeable.

I like this better than its main competitor Sploofy because the Smoke Buddy lasts forever. When it finally seems dead you can microwave it for 5-10 seconds and let it cool down and it works again. This trick eventually stops working though. I ended up just making my own with activated carbon and a soda bottle because it was cheaper than buying these products again.You can find activated carbon in the fish supplies aisle of many stores. To make one cut some slits or make some holes in the bottle of the bottle. Stuff a paper towel into the bottom to cover the openings you just made. Pour your activated carbon(avoid the very fine powder, it will blow out the bottom) into the bottle and stop a few inches from the top. Stuff paper towels into the top to prevent the carbon from falling out. Take your hit and blow it into the bottle from the top and you will get a clean smell out the other end. If you have issues with it working well then adjust how compacted the carbon is until it works for you.

I was very skeptical if this would actually work. Have no doubts, it really works, and works well. If it starts to act clogged up leave the lid off of it for 24 hours and it will be like brand new. No clue why that works, but it does!

Honestly, I see where you’re coming from with the toilet paper roll/dryer sheet setup. If it’s working, cool, but this doesn’t just filter the smoke thru a dryer sheet and make it smell like Downey. It literally traps the smoke, the smell, the actual smoke goes into this thing and nothing but clean air comes out. It’s not disguised toxins that your kids and animals still will take in their bodies secondhand. I don’t know about others, but when I’m mislead into thinking something is … say healthy, but it’s really not… I’m not cool with it. I don’t care to be mislead at all, ever really. I can only assume to treat others with the same regard, even if they happen to be naive to the fact. This filter actually keeps the toxins out of the air, hence off your walls and furniture, and away from your loved ones who may not care to inhale smoke by choice. A joint isn’t a great candidate for this thing because it continues to emit smoke, neither is a cigarette. A pipe or a bong is probably what your aim would be here. Idk just have some respect for people and pets. just because you choose to smoke doesn’t mean you need to force feed others your choice smoking habits. It’s toxic and it leaves residue on everything in the room you smoke in. I’m sure smoking once isn’t going to produce much buildup, but maybe you smoke oftentimes somewhere. The residue doesn’t miraculously change once it’s put thru your lungs, it still has toxic properties. Ask your old bong with the nasty buildup, go ahead and scrape off the resin or whatever, and eat it if you think it’s so untoxic. Your cats lick their paws and clean themselves. Your kids put their hands in their mouths and that much won’t change because you smoke. I’d really recommend this filter in particular. I’ve tried other brands of filters but they don’t seem to work nearly as well as this one does for some reason. That said, The only thing I’ve found it that It’s hard to impose on people to use this sometimes, Ive struggled with that. It’s a little obtrusive. 100% worth it for me, 10% recommended by my guests.

These things are amazing! Takes care of the smell better than anything else ever could. When blowing a large cloud of vapor through this and it completely disappeared after going through. If smoking a bowl though, be aware of the additional smoke that will come from the bowl when you are finished breathing from the pipe. To combat this, simply put a finger over the bowl piece to cut off oxygen and extinguish smoke. The smoke buddy works best with concentrates for this reason IMO. I have been using this in a household of non smokers mostly with concentrates but occasionally with herb as well and nobody has the slightest idea of my smoking habit! The little key chain doll was a cool little addition but unfortunately that broke within half an hour of receiving it but im not going to hold that against the product because this is a review of the smoke buddy product itself. Some smell builds up in the filter so make sure to keep the filter caps so this thing doesnt start to reek! Also, be sure to make a nice seal around your mouth when blowing through the smokebuddy so that smoke cant escape from being filtered.

I have purchased many of the smoke buddies and other options. HANDS down, the best product is this bigger smoke buddies. I have one that is a few years old and it still works. (Needed two) The fun pic makes it so fun to use. Very durable and long lasting. Small version is not going to keep up w/moisture build up (actual issue for all buddies.)

This thing works absolutely as advertised and if you do it correctly (i.e. make sure you get all smoke in the lungs in one go with none escaping) and you make sure you have a good mouth seal around the hole, and you make sure to replace the caps quickly, then there is absolutely no smell. The only reason Im giving it 4 points instead of 5 is that the rim of the hole is quite roughly cut plastic and is consequently a little sharp and irritating. Im sure youve probably experienced sharp edges of plastic in cheap toys, etc. Not the most tactile experience. Not to the point where youd stop using it, but it is the one bummer aspect of the product and so deserves a little slap, especially as it wouldnt be that hard for them to add one more little step to the manufacturing process and smooth the mouth end down.
