> 3 dayThis thing is pretty cool, its loud but not too loud, I put it in my crown for fun at the burnouts. Its super easy to install but the wiring it comes with is a little too short. Red and black go to your battery and the two green wires go to the the white and black wires on the speaker. Thats it. The quality does not seem great, speaker is not the clearest sound either but for.$100 its fun.

> 3 dayVery good siren with a very load sound. I have this installed In my Jeep and love the loudness of the speaker. The speaker is very low profile and made of high quality material. This siren will last!

> 3 dayMe and a buddy both have one it’s really fun to play with just don’t do anything stupid with it to get in trouble if you use it as a toy. Really good quality and sound. Really fun to scare your buddies walking in front of you.

Greater than one weekOVERALL The control box seems to be larger than it needs to be, causing a mounting issue. I was able to find a place, but not where I initially had hoped to mount the unit. Buttons, switches, and knobs seem very sturdy. Wiring is great - easy to hook up if you have a little experience with automotive electrical systems. The backlit selected Mode titles are a plus, but not having any other functions/switches backlit is a bit of a bummer, especially with how small the volume indicator is on the knob. HORN The Horn is why I bought the unit. Lamphus includes an optional jumper wire that you can connect to your vehicles horn circuit so that pressing your vehicles horn button engages the Lamphus Horn, which can be quite loud. Its a bit of an electric air horn sound, like some of the Police cruisers use. When the control box is turned off, the Horn feature will not work, and when the unit is turned on, the volume knob controls the volume of the Horn, whether using the jumpers or pressing the momentary manual switch on the unit. SIREN I disabled the siren functions because I dont want or need them. I did try it all out during bench testing of course and found the sirens to be toyish. The tones go too high and for too long - they just dont sound like any emergency vehicle sirens. Fine with me - I didnt want them. I disconnected the brown wire behind the momentary on/off/momentary on switch so that now only the Horn function works and not the momentary Siren. Also, I put a screw directly into the face of the device next to the Mode selection knob in such a way that only the Radio and Standby modes can be selected. PA The PA works brilliantly. The volume control which also turns the unit on, controls the volume of the PA as well as the volume of the horn and siren. The microphone unfortunately is permanently attached to the device not allowing for easy replacement or disconnecting for any reason. But the handheld mic seems sturdy, the switch works fine, and the microphone seems to pick up well. There is a very brief delay once the PTT button is pressed until it transmits. RADIO Mode There are two white wires which can be used optionally. They can be hooked up to any devices audio output such as a CB radio, Ham/amateur radio, or iPod, etc and broadcast over the loudspeaker. The volume is controlled solely by the external device (ie: CB, Ham, iPod), and not by the Lamphus system volume. When Radio mode is selected, any signal input into the white wires will be broadcast at the devices volume level regardless of Lamphus volume level. The Horn and Siren switch can be used and the PA can be used during operation in this mode and it will momentarily cancel the input signal. CONTROL 1 and 2 These are two basic switches. You can run a light bar or any other 12 volt device using the supplied wires running from the main harness. LOUDSPEAKER The speaker seems very sturdy and the low profile allows for many mounting locations. I mounted mine between the grill and radiator so that it faces forward but is hard to see from the front of the vehicle. A typical cone shaped speaker would have had to be mounted in the engine compartment or somewhere under the front bumper.

> 3 dayI bought this unit for the horn sound and pa system for my 2006 Ford Crown Victoria, how could I not for only 100$. The system was relatively easy to install and only took me a few hours. If you have a general understanding of cars and electric circuits it should be no problem to install at home. However, upon trying to use the system no noise was produced. I contacted the seller of the item and they kindly sent me a whole new unit! The second one worked great! Speaker was loud and is still working great! I would highly recommend this product because it is pretty good quality for a 100$ system and the customer support is amazing!

> 3 dayIt’s loud, but the siren functions don’t sound that good. It sounds like the siren on a toy car. The PA system does work good though so if that’s all you want it for then this is good for you. All the sirens are weird sounding, the siren horn sounds good unless you hold it for too long, and the regular police buzzer horn sounds good. Well worth the money if they fix the dollar store siren sounds, but at the moment if you’re looking for a siren that sounds good, look elsewhere

> 3 dayMy intended use for this is mainly for the PTT function, which is the one function that isnt very loud. The sirens and horn are stupid loud and my neighbors can attest to that. They also told me they could hear me from outside their house while using the PTT but driving at anything over 15MPH and its drowned out, especially if the person youre attempting contact has windows up and/or a radio on in their vehicle. Ill note that if you hook up the radio function to your vehicles speakers it plays whatever is on your stereo or bluetooth loudly, louder than the PTT but that gets pretty 2002 after a few minutes. Ill update if it breaks or if I add lights to the optional (fused) switch controls.
