It was easy to install and by far the best product for adding play items to our diy playground for our grandson.

We have built several swing sets for our kids now our grand kids. Used brackets that lag all the way through but these are much better we have little monkeys who climb even on top of swings so not having a bolt sticking out is much better.

Thought these would work for our kids jungle gym (had predrilled holes ready to go) so we ordered this product based on reviews. The screws are way too short and need nuts to hold a swing going into a jungle gym. Otherwise they just slide right through the hole. A normal jungle gym needs at least a 6” screw with a nut and washer. This is not for that. These screws are half the size. Disappointed but we’ll just buy the screws elsewhere since the quality of the swing anchor is at least good

I would love to review this product with nothing but 5 stars... however, only one side of one of my hangers came drilled, and so I cannot even install to my swing set. Since I cannot install the hinges, I cannot tell you if it is as sturdy as it looks and feels. I cannot comment on the ease of installation, because it cannot be done. I might have a friend that can drill a hole in it, but that kind of defeats the purpose of the purchase. Maybe mine is just a fluke, but it seems like it is something that should have been caught in quality control. EDIT: luckily, we have a friend with a drill press and he was able to finish drilling the second hole. We will be installing this later today for my daughters swing set. Will review more if/when it needs. Will up my star rating to 3, because no everyone will have access to a drill press to fix the companies mistake. 2nd edit: I am upping to 4 stars. Mostly because we needed two more sets of hinges for our swing set, and I wanted them to be the same. Also, since I knew I had a friend that could drill the hole if it only came partially drilled I figured I’m not out anything if that was the case. Both sets of hinges came completely drilled, so I suppose the first set was a fluke.

Very sturdy but extremely challenging to find the hardware if you are a novice. Put these on a 4 x 6 beam of pressure treated lumber for a swingset. Did research and decided a carriage bolt was the only way to go, I wanted something keeping this on the wood no matter what (my dad said a lag bolt could theoretically come lose inside the wood). The head on the carriage bolt had to be forced past the little metal part on these hangers, and then held like that during install but they worked. It’s true that the hex thing underneath the head won’t let the bolt get completely flush with these hangers. But they’re not going anywhere. Used 1/2 x 7” galvanized (corrosion resistant) carriage bolts into the 4x6, then a lock washer and large “OD washer” then a 1/2” nut on the end. I had to buy a drill attachment that was long enough to go into the 4x6 (was actually a 3.5 x 5.5 beam). To keep the carriage bolt from wiggling out of the swing hanger during install, we pre-assembled each one (slid the bolts in and pushed them past the metal protruding thing) and kept them like that as we put the bolts into the wood. Otherwise they kept coming back past the protruding thing. But it wasn’t hard. (See last photo for what I’m talking about) Looking back I would have made sure I knew what we were doing for hardware before the day of installation...I forgot that hardware was not included. Huge hassle if you’re new to building stuff. But they’re very secure now at least. We put them 18” apart. I also plan to tighten them in a month or two because I read that pressure treated wood is swollen when you buy it, so hardware can loosen a little as it dries out. I feel very secure knowing the washers and nuts are keeping these bolts in, and I can manually check and tighten them.

So these are great, BUT I am really disappointed that the seller or manufacturer wont just come out and say what type of mounting hardware to use. If you read through the questions and answers, everyone wants to know what screws to use, but they just keep saying to consult a professional. Seriously? A professional swing set installer to help you with the simple install of a DYI product you did not buy from them? How much is that going to cost? If we were wanting to hire a professional, we would not be buying this on Amazon. Are they that afraid of the liability that they wont share this top-secret info with us? I used the 3/8 stainless steel screws that others recommended. But the heads on the screws are too small so you have to use a large washer to get it to work. My only concern with this is it seems the washer is now what is really holding everything together, but it is the thinnest, weakest part of the system. Please Jungle Gym Kingdom, just tell us how you designed these hangers to be installed. Are we supposed to use 1/2 screws instead? Is there some special fastener out there you have in mind? I put mine in a 4x6 beam. Im sure most people are installing into beams. Give us some help here.
