Had this for about 8 months and so far it has performed well.No problems to report. I use it for work and travel for work. It holds my laptop easily. Had a 15 laptop and it held it no problem. Now I have a smaller one and it swims in the pocket. Can easily fit a tablet or even 2 laptops. Havent tried the TSA friendly feature as I have pre check. There are enough pockets for for all of the stuff I carry. One thing I might change are the side mesh water bottle holders. When there is stuff in the zipper pockets next to the mesh pockets, it is hard to get a large water bottle in there or a thermos. Smaller water bottle fits ok. Im happy with it. Update: Been using this backpack now for 5 years. Traveled past 5 years for work with last 2 years solid travel and after several hundred flights and 3 continents, this backpack is still going strong. Showing very little wear. Zippers all in good condition, handles still secure and attached. Easily holds my laptop and an iPad. Still havent tried the TSA feature as Ive always had pre check. I honestly did not expect to still be using this after 5 years but I think I will get at least another 3 years out of it before I simply get tired of it and buy something new just to buy something new. Cant ask for too much more out of a backpack than I asked of this one. Update 2022: This backpack is still going strong. I added a new continent in 2022 with 2 trips to Australia, one to Korea and several trips to Europe. It is only showing the slightest bit of wear and only on the inside. It must be nearing a million miles of travel by now along with daily trips to the office when I’m not traveling. I don’t know if they still make this model but if they do, it’s a great durable everyday travel backpack

Replaced an older model with this one. The old model lasted about five years with rough use and this one seemed like it would be tougher. The shape and location of the zippers/pockets took a little getting used to but after some time, I do like this bag quite a bit. It DOES seem much tougher than the old one I had. The big critique is it seems to tip over to the front very easily. The obvious solution is to not put anything with weight in any of the front compartments, but then that also sort of defeats the purpose of having multiple storage spots.

I purchased this bag once I started traveling for work. I have a HP ZBook - Bang & Olufsen computer (massive piece of equipment) and it fits snug. Ive used it for carrying files to and from our different locations in the US and it has several compartments that are accessible and convenient to have. Ive even used this for personal travels and was impressed by the durability, comfortability and capacity. Ive used it daily for over a year and I see no signs of wear. The zippers are all in the same condition as when I bought it. Its swiss-made! I would recommend this over other back packs. Note: Ive never actually tried to use the TSA friendly ScanSmart feature I always just take it out and put it into a separate bin but I might try it next time if I have some time!

I have ~20 backpacks, but Ive been flying more often lately and wanted one I could keep my laptop in while passing through airport security. Ive had this for a month or two, but just did my first flight with it. Sure enough I was able to keep my laptop in the bag: I unzipped the clamshell and laid it out open on the belt, with the laptop in its own compartment on one side and everything else in the other half of the clamshell. It passed through security just fine. So as a travel bag it did what I wanted. Sweet! As a backpack, its very good. Its super-sturdy. The handle is actually rigid metal covered with rubber, so its indestructible and will never fail no matter how much you weight you put in the bag. The zippers and zipper pulls are rugged. I have no worries about this bag wearing out anytime soon. And it has plenty of pockets, so you can distribute the weight around and keep smaller stuff organized and accessible. My only minor complaint is that the actual laptop compartment is way thicker than I need, and the main compartment of the bag is therefore somewhat smaller than I might wish. I have a 15 MacBook Pro, which is ~3/4 thick. The laptop compartment has so much padding that it seems to be 4 times thicker than my laptop. The laptop stayed secure, and was definitely well protected, but I felt like the padding wasted a fair bit of space. So much so that the main compartment doesnt hold quite as much as my other backpacks with laptop compartment do. You can still get a couple of books in there plus some other stuff, so it holds enough. But given the size of the backpack, it felt like too much of the volume was given to the laptop compartment vs. the main compartment. Since TSA regulations state the laptop has to be in a compartment by itself, you cant stick anything else in with the laptop, so that empty space is wasted. But thats just a minor annoyance. Its a great bag, and it got me through airport security a little bit easier and a little bit faster, which is what I wanted it for. So Im happy with this purchase and have no problem recommending this backpack.

I use this daily for work and it still works like the first day I got it. I have no issues and it got good space for the size!

I have only been using this backpack for a few months but already I can tell it is the best backpack I have owned. Cavernous on the inside. Fits my work laptop Dell M4800 (a large laptop for a 15) with plenty of extra room. Not too bulky. Comfortable to carry even with heavy laptop and charger. Lots of thoughtful gizmos like sunglasses holder, adjustable bottle pockets, carabiner hook for keys etc. Looking forward to many years of service. I noticed that lots of people commented on the ScanSmart feature. Its my experience that the TSA agents are not familiar with or dont care about the rule that you can fold your bag open and put the computer through the scanner. I have tried this with a TSA-friendly briefcase and been told Nope. many times until I gave up. So my $.02 is dont worry about the ScanSmart feature but do get this backpack for its capacity, comfort, creature features, and build quality.

Overall I really like this bag, and would recommend for purchase, as its good value for the price. Some things to be aware of however: 1. Large gromets would let water into the two side pockets if it rained on the bag, or it got splashed. I would have liked to see better weather proofing. 2. The main stuff pocket has a rather small opening at the top. Not a big deal, but I like a full width opening at the top. 3. The pocket separators in the main stuff pocket dont attach to the bottom of the bag, which is fine for papers/folders, etc... but if I put something small in the front of this pocket, it ends up shifting back and lying under the separator pockets. I have to do more hunting than is necessary for these items when they do shift (headphones, or small notebook, etc...) 4. being left handed, I am somewhat miffed that the laptop section only opens on the right hand side, but I do like the side opening pocket and the padding.

Lots of reviews so I won’t bore you with mine. This is well made and exceeds/meets my expectations coming from a idk what model Swiss gear backpack that gave me 6 years at my company and it was a hand me down. So why not buy another Swiss gear? Tbh I crammed the last bag with tools and the top of the middle compartment zipper ripped. I’ll stitch it up and still use it as a camera bag or something.

This is very spacious with more than enough pockets. The only problem I have is that my 3 inch binder is hard to fit in here. There are two separate large spaces but neither is easy to fit the large binder in. Other than that it works great and keeps me organized on the go. Im often a walking desk because I have to carry most my desk contents location to location.

I really like this backpack! It is so convenient to have the ScanSmart feature when going through airport security! The laptop compartment unzips to allow you separate the laptop from the rest of the backpack. This backpack has lots of storage compartments like many other reviewers have mentioned. I was able to carry my laptop, DSLR camera, a couple of changes of clothes, several magazines and books, and still could have packed more. Of course it was pretty heavy at that point, so I wouldnt have wanted to pack more. My point is that you can carry a lot with this backpack! It seems like it is good quality and will last a long time. However, this is a pretty large backpack. Im a pretty big guy (64) so it fits me fine, but it looks a little silly when my wife wears it. So you may want to get a smaller size backpack if you dont want to look like a pack mule.
