Texas Instruments TI-1795 SV Standard Function Calculator

I bought 2 of these calculators to take to some of my relatives in the Philippines. They live in a small farming village in rural northeastern Luzon. Its a jungle environment that has no utilities and the closest thing to a shop is a 3 hour jeep ride away. My relatives wanted some calculators for when they took their corn and banana crops to the buyers in town, so they could quickly figure if they were getting a fair deal for their stuff. The TI1795SV can handle the rough environment, with all the dust, dirt, and getting dropped & whatnot. It would be perfect if it was waterproof (its not) but my relatives are being careful to carry the calculators in Ziplocs (amazing you can buy Ziplocs in the jungle but no batteries) during typhoons and not drop them in the river.

TI is known for their calculators, we used them in school and now at work. Its ergonomic, if a calculator can be ergonomic.

Ive used this calculator many times before and its a good basic calculator. The display was dim straight of of the package, which I think was a battery issue.

Just needed a solar calculator for business and personal calculations. This one is perfect. Large enough but not too big.

Ive been using a jumbo calculator for years and it finally gave out on me. This was a nice substitute and you cannot beat the price. Once I got used to certain buttons being in a different location on the keyboard, this was great.

I am very Happy with this product. The buttons are large, the display is at a nice angle. Shipping was fast as well.

My wife has tried many other calculators are all have been junk. Saw this texas instruments model and she loves it! Has worked perfectly! Most products today have gone downhill in quality but this item seems like it might last awhile.

I bought the Texas Instruments name. Design is Cute but offers no benefit in use.

My old one finally gave out after decades. This one is adequate but the buttons are stiff. Still getting used to it. There is no backward button either. Not sure why. I used it often.
