Timber Wolf Bandsaw Blade 1/2 x 93-1/2, 4 TPI

I have recently been using my 14 bandsaw to resaw hardwood for jewelry box building. This has required tuning the saw and building some fences to support the resawing Years ago I bought several widths of Rigid brand blades when they were marked down on clearance. After getting the saw tuned and some good fences built I managed to cut boards in half but the cut quality was so poor extensive planing was required. The reviews of Timberwolf on the Internet are all over the place but the majority are favorable so with Prime same day delivery I bought this Saturday morning and had it in hand by the late afternoon. I was aware this blade is low tension and I followed the instructions when I installed it. I made a test cut on a piece of ash and I am pleased. The quality of the cut is not perfect but it is very good and it may get better as I become more accustomed to pushing the board through without any stops. I will still run it through the planer but it will only take one light pass to clean it up. The blade runs quiet. Right now I think this is a winner, but I will also admit I ordered a 1/2 Wood Slicer blade from Highland just in case this one did not cut smoothly. I like this one well enough that had I waited until I could try it out I would not have ordered the Wood Slicer blade.

I set it up as instructed. It cuts extremely well. It cuts clean with very fine tooth marks and narrow kerf. I like the low tension required for this blade. I know it cost more but it should last much longer. I resharpen my other blades two or three times and if I can do so with this blade I will more than get my moneys worth.

This blade has made a huge difference on my Delta 14” bandsaw. My unit has only 1/2hp motor which can barely run a high tensions resaw band. With this low tension design the saw is running better than ever now that it doesn’t have to fight so hard just to idle.

These are well built. Wish I had bought these from beginning. Havent used it atot so cant speak on longevity, but sure it will last.

After receiving a Vermont American 31345 1/2-Inch by 4TPI by 93-1/2-Inch Stationary Fast Wood Cutting Band Saw Blade and installing it on my newly re-tired Delta band saw, I found it would not even begin to cut a block of 2 x 2 white oak, So, I read more reviews and bought this Timber Wolf blade which came with some very exacting instructions. I followed them while installing it, tuned the saw as they suggested, and introduced that same piece of white oak to it. The Timber Wolf cut it like it was butter!! What a relief and what a great blade!

Only had blade for one day,but it is of good quality

I bought this because I has been attempting to rip a piece of seasoned ash and the factory blade on my Ridgid 14 bandsaw was not cutting it (literally). After installing this new blade, the bandsaw went through the ash like butter. I was impressed. Totally worth the price. A few things I found useful. If you are not familiar with replacing a bandsaw blade (I wasnt), its helpful to watch a few videos and have your manufacturers guide handy to figure out how to get all the guides and guards out of the way. On my saw there were at least half dozen things above, below, and to the side that needed to be moved/removed before a new blade would go in. A couple were hidden out of sight below the table. It would have taken me alot longer to figure out without the resources. Uncoil the new blade wearing gloves. The blade is like razor wire and the metal hoop acts like a spring, so uncoiling can be a bit exciting -- you dont want several feet of razor sharp metal springing open and flying around your face, or worse. Its hard to control it with bare hands. Mine ended up on the concrete floor. Lesson learned. After installation, take the time to make all the adjustments to make the blade track true on the tires, with the right tension, square to the table, with minimal vibration or drift. Again, Youtube and the manual are your friends. It took me about 30 minutes to get the whole thing done, but it was time very well spent, and using the tool afterward was effortless. Its actually enjoyable to use now.

These are the only bandsaw blades I will buy. They last forever and stay sharp when tensioned and tracked correctly. They are a little more to purchase but you save money in the long run.

New bandsaw owner (used Jet 14”) and after reading online about the highest quality blades I decided to go ahead and spend the extra money on the Timber Wolf. I had alread upgraded my saw with the Rockler 10 bearing guide kit but the blade that came with the saw still wandered all over the place and took way too much pressure to cut even soft wood. It felt sharp to me but I knew it needed replacing. Well once I installed and tuned the new 1/2” Timber Wolf blade, I marked a straight square line across scrap wood and cut it using the miter gauge. It tracked the line perfectly and went through it like I was cutting air. Spend the extra cash, you won’t be disappointed. I did not give a stat on longevity as I haven’t had it very long but will come back and revise this review once I’ve put some use into it.
