I love that the app Smart Life has so many features to control these wifi devices. I currently own their switches (3-way, and single), outdoor and indoor plugs. I can schedule on/off, use timer and also create smart actions that can control multiple devices with one command. It is perfect for my usage. I have used this particular outdoor plug for Christmas lights and it has worked beautifully under snow, freezing rain and cold winds. I definitely recommend buying from this company.

Great product to dim LED string lights. Includes additional dimmer sensitivity settings in case the set of lights you have flicker while dimming. Integrates with Echo and Google Assistant. One star knocked off for the app being a bit confusing at first in relation to the dimmer sensitivity settings. Also the product is called TreatLife, but you need to enable the Amazon skill SmartLife to have it connect. Theres another skill called TreatLife, which is clearly the same manufacturer, but doesnt work and just causes confusion. The other negative is there is no local automation control of this out of the box and it requires cloud connectivity (for local smart hubs like Hubitat). Apparently there is a way to flash the firmware, but I just did a workaround to use cloud connectivity to the Hubitat for my simple automation.

Recently moved to a new home where we have a great covered patio where we like to sit out in the evening. I had put string lights around the patio but found they were too bright and I looked for someway to dim them . Found the TeatLife Smart Plug-in Dimmer and decided to give it a try. It works perfectly as I can now dim the string lights to whatever brightness we want to set the mood. I have them linked to my iPhone and I can talk to Siri to turn on/off and control the lights. Also links to Google Home or Alexa. With the scheduling option the lights also turn on and off at preset times on all or any day of my choosing. Highly recommend these dimmers.

We liked the idea of being able to control our outdoor market lights from inside, and I remembered that when we purchased them the description said that they were dimmable with Alexa control. I checked the description, and this is the product recommended on the page. We ordered the twin pack, as we had two non-connected light sets to control. Set up was a little tricky. The paper instructions differed a bit from what I was being told to do once I entered the app. It was fairly intuitive, however, and I soon had it working. About an hour later though, we could not control one of the light sets. No matter what we did, it wouldn’t work. I just unplugged both sets and tried again this morning when it all worked perfectly and has been working great every time I’ve tried all day. So maybe it was just a set-up glitch and needed a rest! I love the way it works!! So easy to just speak the lights on or off (or dimmer or brighter) instead of going outside. Also-if I return home after dark, I can remotely turn the lights on before I arrive so I will be welcomed home by a bright yard!! Update on 3/19/21: I had an issue with one of these plugs, but customer service worked with me and totally took care of the problem. My recommendation for this product is even higher (wish I could give it more than 5 stars!) now that I have experienced how excellent this companys customer service is!!

Great product. Using with my outdoor Bistro Lights. This is the only outdoor smart ‘dimmer’ product that I am aware of and it works perfectly. I have set up two programs – one for full brightness at dusk and then after a few hours, it dims and is at twenty percent brightness till dusk. So they work as security lights as well as I have these string lights running all along the fence. Note that the dimmer is good for lighting loads up to 400 watts which is plenty for a couple of string lights in series.

I installed one of these outdoor smart plugs to power my outdoor string lights over my patio. It was very easy to set up and the system works flawlessly! It was simple to connect to the app - and the app makes it very easy to control. Whats better is that connecting it to Alexa took no effort at all....saying Alexa turn on the backyard lights and having it work is almost like magic! Plus its great to use the app to brighten or dim the lights. If Im outside without my phone its very simple just to press the conveniently located button on the plug to turn on or off the lights. All and all a very well designed and extremely functional product! I am looking forward to using more of these to power my Christmas lights!

I have spent over 2 hours trying to get these devices to connect to my phone to be able to remotely use them, and I still have not been able to connect. They do not seem to be too smart, as their name would imply.

Its unfortunate they put works only with 2.4GHz Wifi. That is a gross oversimplification. 2.4GHz is only required during the INITIAL SETUP phase. After that you can use 5GHz. Im using a TP-Link Deco mesh network and the router app allows enabling/disabling of either 2.4GHz or 5GHz. Simply disable the 5GHz during setup of the plug and the install should proceed without a hitch. Then once the smart dimmer plug is successfully added and working, you can re-enable the 5GHz on the router. If you dont have an app, theres usually a waly to log into your router to enable/disable the two bands. BTW, I suspect that the reason you often see that these wont work with a mesh network is that they only communicate with the specific node that you set up the smart plug for, and wont work node-to-node. I havent tested this yet, but thats probably right due to the different MAC addresses in each node. If youre lucky that all of you dimmers can be located within range of the node where you do the setup, you should be in business. Hope this helps!

This outdoor plug is easy to setup feels sturdy and works great out of box. It took me about 10 minutes to setup both and in operation. If you use Smart Life app to setup, use manual setup, pick Socket Wifi -> Enter your 2.4ghz wifi information -> And change EZ mode to AP Mode. I can never get the EZ mode to work correctly and I have more than 10 Treat life switches and plugs in my house. All of them set up perfectly using AP mode but not EZ mode. I have both Alexa and Google Assistant. Adding to both app was easy and intuitive enough. I set up so if I say Alexa Merry Christmas, Alexa lights up all outdoor lights and the tree inside. I love it. Merry Christmas, everyone!

These are great! The only reliable outdoor smart plug with DIMMER feature I have been able to find. Works great from the Tuya app, also works great with Homekit with Homebridge/Hoobs hub.
