> 24 hourFirst order, device ended not working. I sent it back without any issues and bought a replacement. I am very happy with this access point. I am hoping to buy a Ubiquiti router in the future.

> 24 hourThe range on this device is fantastic. I was able to get a tenth of a mile from my house according to Google Maps and still get signal on my smartphone. That is incredible. We have a 1600 sq ft house, two story with a concrete basement. We have no coverage issues whatsoever in our house, when before, we had two wireless routers that became dumb APs with DD-WRT just to get basic coverage in our home. This device has solved our problems. I have the controller software running on a Windows Server VM (its Java-based) and I have to say, the feature set is fantastic. From the guest portal with access codes for our guests to complete separation between the guest network and the home network with one checkbox and netmask (which was a mess of iptables rules on DD-WRT), this device does it all when paired with its controller. Absolutely amazing capability in a device that costs less than a high-end consumer wireless router. In fact, when paired with an Ubiquiti Edgerouter Lite 3-port, youre paying as much for better capabilities than you get with a consumer all-in-one high end model from one of the other brands.

> 24 hourI upgraded from the old UAP Pro (which Ive re-deployed) and this is a very solid performer which in my application works about 30% further with better signal strength / speed. Note that long range APs are best used in low-density situations (large coverage area with low numbers of users.) In many office environments you will be better off with several lower powered APs due to the noisy RF environment caused by all the equipment / wiring / lighting / etc. plus the degradation caused by building construction. Keep in mind that you will NEVER get the theoretical maximum speeds from any wireless device. Proper choice of channels and AP placement, number of APs, etc. is *critical* for good performance. An example is in a large conference room that may have 90 people on phones / laptops. In that case you may want 4 low powered APs in the room and use the management software to turn the radio strength down even further (near the bottom) to provide best performance. Imagine everyone talking at once, you have a much better chance of hearing someone if the crowd is partitioned off into little rooms.

> 24 hourThis product is amazing! I purchased this product not for a work environment but for my home. We have a single story home about 1500sq feet and I have installed it on my ceiling near where the center of the house is. This thing pushes to the whole house and through all walls. Just remember if you have brick or concrete walls it will be a little degraded but should still be fine. These are meant for buildings and places of work. You can control a lot of options in the included software as well as turning off the bright blue light it emits. Highly recommend.

> 24 hourThe thing blows the doors off my apple airport extreme. If its really that hard to set up, you can put cucumber tony on it, but I have no problem with the built in firmware and using the iOS app for the one in my house. Ubiquiti makes some cool stuff.

> 24 hourI purchased this access point over the more fully featured 802.11AC wave 2 units because of the long range designation. I did a bunch of dBi measurements around my house, but I didnt find that this access points range was any more than other competing units. It seemed equal with the TP link EAP 245 I compared it with, but this one lacked Wave 2 functionality. Although I ultimately decided to send this back, I have to say that the Ubiquiti seemed to have many more configuration options, and I noticed they have a much more extensive and diverse ecosystem of products. The Ubiquiti ecosystem looks second to none if you need it, but at the moment I just needed a decent access point with the option to add more. I really did like the unit, but it made no sense to keep it if the range wasnt what Id hoped for, especially if more up to date access points are able to deliver 802.11ac wave 2 with just as good a range and the same price.

> 24 hourI havent even begun to scratch the surface of this WAPs capabilities. We installed it for a very plain-vanilla use case (just as an access point). After pairing it to the Unifi management console, its easy to manage. Its essentially plug-and-play - just have to change the SSID and password. Installing was simple enough. I installed it in the ceiling up against some sheet metal. The instructions for ceiling mounts are very simple. You almost cant mess it up. Make sure, though, that you leave room to lift up the release latch to help you if you ever need to take the unit down. Also, dont over-tighten the mounting plate. I couldnt get the WAP mounted at first because the screws were too tight.

> 24 hourGreat product. Easy to install, but I dislike the Ubiquiti software. It was a kittle confusing, bit after 1 hour, I managed to set it up. But since, it has worked amazing

> 24 hourI used the non LR version of these at a previous job and they worked great. I ordered the LR version for my house in the hopes of getting a little better coverage in the far corners where some devices would get very weak signal (it would work but very slow.) Sadly after installing the controller software and configuring my WLAN settings I set out to do some tests and the speed was just pathetic compared to the old TP-Link AC router I was hoping this would replace. In the same room it would get maybe 20% of the speed the old router would and the speed was dipping and spiking non stop. When I went outside the house and maybe 10ft from the exterior wall (house is only about 1500 sq ft) I would get 1mbps up and down when testing with my Galaxy S10, for comparison with the old router I would get 220mbps down and 22 up (My service is 400/20). So I assume I got a dud since my previous experience with this brand was great.
