Greater than one weekGot this to map out the electrical outlets for my new house when the electricians didnt bother to put the right info on the panel. This worked perfectly for every single outlet/circuit that I tried. This is really handy and Im really glad that I got it, even if I only need it for one use (if I labeled them all correctly). The only anomaly, there is an outlet that ZI feel is improperly installed, but when I plugged the receiver in to test the outlet, the two lights lit up green to say that the ground was fine. But when I plugged it in - the lights for the entire circuit shut down... Maybe the problem isnt with the ground, but I was sure that there was some problem that this should have detected. But I really love how simple and easy-to-use this is. It really is great. It even comes with a 9-volt battery, which I think is rare (in my experience).

> 3 dayThis device is very easy to use and allowed me to determine a problem with the house wiring in the circuit breaker cabinet. I contacted an electrician and he was able to resolve the problem which could have resulted in damage to appliances and devices plugged into the affected outlets. I dont understand the whole issue but it had something to do with the neutral leads. The symptoms were this device sounded off on multiple breakers for widely separated outlets. The electrician was able to fix the issue fairly quickly and once he finished the device worked flawlessly.

> 3 dayWhen used it show a few breakers so I found my self cycling breakers that were near it till I found the right one. However once you open the right breaker the device wont sound so it does work.

> 3 daywhile nowhere near as good as the more expensive pro-level ones, this one works well enough to map out the mystery fuse box in the basement. Mine had just a couple labels- and even those were wrong. Now I can swap outlets and lights without having to take out the power on the whole house. The build quality is light and it wont take abuse like a pro tool- but its amazingly inexpensive and works.

> 3 dayFairly easy to use, plug in the transmitter in the test socket and move the detector over the breakers along a line down the breaker array on the side closest to the panel box wall and not near the panel center line . instructions say to turn the sensitivity all the way down eliminate cross-talk issue but I found a midpoint setting worked better. I would typically start at full sensitivity, sweep the panel to ensure it saw a signal, then step down the sensitivity until only one breaker trigger a response. Note I generally could not distinguish between the a/b breakers in a double gang setup. I did have one issue; the transmitter makes an assessment of the socket and can identify problems with the wiring. This worked initially, but after testing several sockets it consistently indicated an unconnected ground even on circuits it initially said were ok. I verified a good ground with multimeter so bad transmitter. I returned the unit and amazon promptly replaced it . havent had any issues since then.

> 3 dayI own lots of these, and I am always ringing out wires... if you read bad reviews, well, that will happen with these products... mainly because, they are very unique, tempermental, and each brand has its own personality. for the newb, it can seem like, its too hard to trace, but with some trial n errror, u learn what works. how? test on a circuit you know both ends... be sure to pick one in the middle of the breaker panel find a way to test, so it works, adj. sensitivity, distance, speed, etc. once you perfect one that works, u can then move on to the mystery circuits... overall, for the receptacle gfi tester, and the tracer, this is an amazing value, and it works! recommended! 4.5 stars

> 3 dayYou simply plug the tone generator unit (which also works as an outlet tester) into an outlet, and tone is automatically sent to the circuit box. If the circuit is off, however, the tone sender unit is not powered, and no tone is generated.
