The filter works fine and keeps my fishbowl water nice and clear. The only problem I have had with it is that when you put it into your tank it expands to about twice the stated size and therefore takes up a lot of room in my small tank. It works great though so I do recommend it.

The filter sponge is great but the construction and how you have to disassemble it is now because you end up squeezing the sponge and releasing the filtered stuff back into the water, not easy to clean

Keeps water clear..

I would recommend this filter. I have two axolotls and they need a filter that does not cause a current. There is ZERO current with this filter. It is quiet (it is not louder than the airstone you hook it up to) and it does seem to be keeping the water cleaner. The ONLY thing people should consider is that the sponge of the filter itself is about the size of a grapefruit. So it does take up some space....but....that said, my axolotls like to sit on top of it so it adds more levels to my tank!

The xy380 is your standard sponge filter, I like the coarse sponge that was used so it wont clog up as soon as a finer spone would, Its bigger than my hikari sponge filter over all sponge filters are my favorite filters, they are cheap, wont over flow, i always have an extra one to seed a new aquarium with bacteria, low maintaince, nothing to replace awsome filters

The inner chamber separates where you can put a charge of charcoal in the bottom half. The air tube goes straight to the bottom, so maximum air up-flow is achieved. Use the the most powerful air pump for maximum effect. Excellent design. Re-ordering!

Works like it should

I have only had it in the tank for a month or so but appears to working fine.

The item came on time but big cuts from knife on the sponge part.guys please just be carefull. ;)

This a big sponge filter,much bigger than I expected.I hooked it up to help me cycle a tank but now its in storage until I need it again.Thanks!
