The Raspberry PI 4B is a surprisingly capable computer. This is replacing an original Raspberry PI B which has been online more than 7 years. Supporting 2 simultaneous Openvpn tunnels streaming video from my cable provider uses 6% to 8% processing power.

The speed and performance of the new Raspberry Pi 4 are the main characteristics compared with earlier models. However, the pi4 runs hotter than other pis. It can be solver by using a Aluminum case or a 5V fan.

You get what you really need, I am an IoT enthusiast, and multiple times I have to design the boxes to install my own designed systems depending on the applications, well this company has what you need, and you pay a fair price, giving you the option to save some money to get a bigger micro SD card, completely recommended.

I like the kit, but i had previeously owned these, so i knew what to expect from the board. Raspberry Pis are great. I already own 9.

This is a basic starter kit. If you have a lot of bits and pieces lying around your house this kit will have everything else you need to get the Pi up and running, if you dont you will need to come up with your own memory card, power supply and HDMI cable. They provide an HDMI converter so any standard HDMI cable will work. For a memory card, I prefer 64GB myself, but anything 16G or bigger will work (You could use 8GB, but I wouldnt). The only key with larger cards is that they MUST be formatted as FAT16 or FAT32 or your PI cannot boot from them. Some SD card format programs will not do that, so be careful. Other than that you can download the software as mentioned in their ebook if you are new to the PI and following the directions you should be up and running in about 30 minutes total. This is a good no frills kit, if you are looking for a kit that provides everything you need or maybe want to media streaming center, there are kits available that may be a better choice for you.

A true basic desktop replacement

All I can say is excellent!!!

My VIC20 was getting a little long in the tooth, sure I’ve been using her for almost 40 years, so I gutted her like a fish, did a little modification and voila the VICberry20. Runs like a dream and typing on it is so sweet ( I hate typing on those super flat laptop keyboards and back in the day we used to think chicklet keyboards were bad.)
