Put this fan in our bedroom a week ago and LOVE IT. Whisper quiet on low and moves plenty of air. Thermostat seems to work pretty well. Fan was off on the cold mornings and kicked back on when the outside temps warmed up. Since we have a first floor bedroom we wanted a fan you couldnt see through and this one is perfect. Highly Recommend.

My 7 month old is getting more sensitive to light. The layers of fabric over the windows keeps getting thicker. It’s summertime and the sun stays out much later than the winter so his 7pm bedtime was getting harder. It was hot in the room. I needed a fan that would let in as little light as possible. This fan is perfect for us. We don’t have to use an AC because we live in the mountains. It does let in a small amount of light but it’s very minimal. If your kiddo needs 100% blackout then a window fan will most likely not work for you. This is the closest to blackout in the market! Would absolutely buy again. Like so many other reviews I wish it came with a few more spacers to fill out gap between the unit and the window frame.

On really hot days this will push around hot air, and will not cool down the room by itself. However, you can raise your AC by a few degrees to get cool air in and exhaust out hot air. Vice versa on normal and cooler days its a great way to circulate cool air in the room. By no means is it a standalone AC unit, but Vornado is the best in regards to a whole-room breeze and does great at bringing in fresh air. On a few occasions, it made a weird noise high pitched spinning not even a week old but it seems to have stopped. Note that the temperature sensor is also strange. It does not gauge the temperature to your preferred indoor setting. Its basically At what point is the air outside too cold to bring in? It does not try to get the room to the level you specify, and the temperature controls on Amazon are vague in that regard for what it actually did.

product came in a neat package, instllation was a breeze, but there were a few hole/gaps that needed to be plugged.. good thing i had a window seal handy. after instllation it was time to start it, turned of and worked great in manual mode. but the thermostat mode is poorly designed. I bought it cuz my heat is controlled by landlord central AC and everyone in the house likes it hot and I like it cold, so bought this, but this thermostat ispoorly placed and records the temps poorly. its 75 at my desk but the thermostat says its 53 at the window. clearly the poor implementation issue. the fan body itself since its half outside in the freezing colds of east coast must be freezing and this is throwing the thermostat off.... so my 2 cents to the manufacterers is 1. Please design the next version to be compatible with remote temp sensor. 2. Please improve the insulation cuz I can feel lite breeze/ chill ness when near the fan. which clearly means its leaking cold air from outside to inside.

This fan is well worth the price. I first tried an inexpensive window fan from a bix box store. The Transom fan does a much better job. The big box store fan requires you to take the fan out from the window, turn it around and replace it in the window in order to use it as an exhaust fan. ThisTransom fan uses a buttton to switch the airflow direction and it moves more air with less noise. The build quality is just so much better better. The transom fan makes for a much better fit into the window with the foam that is on the top and bottom of the fan. My window has been retrofitted with a vinyl replacement window so the foam blocks provided do not work work very well to seal the sides. I will have to use some foam from another source and cut it to fit my window. In spite of that, I would buy this fan again.

I live in an area that AC is not normal. But my bedroom is upstairs so on any sunny day the room is hot, summer, unbearable. I have always used the double window fans you get at the local hardware store, and they are better than nothing, but basically worthless, not too mention loud. I stumbled on this, I read the reviews, found them to be mixed, but decided to pull the trigger anyway. It is pretty spendy, but I have to say, I believe it was worth every penny. I love the lower profile, and the air blows deep into the room, unlike the others that seem to not make it much past about a foot. The sound on its highest level (4) is whisper quiet. I get real air draw on the out, and it flips with a double tap of the remote. I do not use the temp control. Now, while I give it 5 stars, and I recommend it, and love it, there is a design flaw, and that is in the foam blocks for getting a seal around it. I def had to mcgyver it a bit. They are basically stupid, but better than nothing. There are several reviews that discuss them, and honestly, they are not wrong. However, dont let it deter you from a great fan.

Make Sure You measure your window:) I got mine to work but it is outside the replacement window with the window handle holding it, I have a screen so it placed well, good over all design, I think they went for quiet more than power. My old Holmes (they dont make the model anymore) was much more powerful, but much much louder. I use it for exhaust only, it does not pull smoke well, and Im 5 ft. away on level 4. We will see how long it lasts I do like the design.

As a fan, this unit is pretty solid. Construction is good, it puts out a lot of air, and the native Alexa integration is great. The added functionality of temperature control, direct/exhaust modes, and touch panel are nice as well. It’s also reasonably quiet compared to most units. Setup was fairly easy, although I had to link it to my home automation in the space where my Echo hub resides and it required multiple attempts, including a factory reset or two along the way. That costs this design a half star; I should have been able to do it all from the bedroom and without having to do a factory reset (it was a new unit). The fan is not very wide and, as such, requires fins on either side to fill in the window space. Vornado includes slotted, foam fins you can place - 2 each of 3 different sizes. Problem is…they do not attach to the fan or each other. Additionally, their height is just a bit too short to ensure they stay in place. Mine regularly fall out of the window. To solve this issue, I’m attaching Velcro dogs so they can be held together. It’s a simple fix, but, again, a design issue that I shouldn’t have to deal with at this price point so another half star there. Besides those minor issues, I like this fan and its features. It does a good job of keeping the room cool, cycling adequate air in/out (it is NOT an air conditioner; no condenser, coils, etc). If your window is too small to fit a full sized box fan, this is a solid option.

Purchased this to replace an old Honeywell two fan unit. Pleasantly surprised, moves a decent amount of air and is fairly quiet, the LEDs arent blinding at night and the buttons dont make any stupid beeps. I only wish the width adjustment was better, I liked the expandable accordian type things my old fan had better than the goofy foam blocks this came with.
