> 3 dayThis is a great, crystal clear, trusted monitor. We have a 3 bedroom apartment, my babys crib is in our room so I just needed one parent unit to leave in the living room when she needed rest by herself. I really wasnt looking for anything with all the bells and whistles, just something where I could hear my child when she cries. This product definitely did that and more. The child unit stays plugged into the wall, we leave it in the corner of the crib, out of her reach from the wire. The parent unit can be recharged and unplugged if needed but we always leave it plugged in, with the exception of going to the kitchen.. it has a belt clip as well. The parent unit has 5 adjustable sound levels, and you can also set it to vibrate or light up when noise is detected. This was an added plus as I wasnt looking for anything high-tech. The sensitivity of the child unit is great, it will light up when she stirs in her sleep or even grunts while looking for her pacifier. The lights on the parent unit light up as the sensitivity and noise of the child increases. The child unit was in the room with the air conditioner on, which is pretty loud but it was able to dull out the noise of the air conditioner and was still sensitive to my babys cries, which could be heard clearly. I have had the baby on the bed, as far as 10 feet away and the child unit was still sensitive enough to pick up her noises. Another good thing to note is that at night, the child unit is dark when not detecting any sounds, but once noise is detected it lights up with a soft orange glow. When my daughter wakes up in the middle of the night and cries the glow is not so intrusive where it keeps her awake, but she likes to look at it. Its also just enough light provided where I can change her without turning on the lamp or light. VTech really thought about the parents when making this product, and covered all the bases. I am more than satisfied with this product.

> 3 dayI did a lot of research before buying a monitor, and am glad I purchased this one. There is very very minimal white noise. Both the monitors I had used with previous children had a lot of static and would sometimes keep me awake at night. I have heard white noise once from this monitor. It was during a storm and not loud enough to be bothersome. The part that goes in the childs room has a night light on the top that you can turn on and off from the parent unit. Its a great feature, I do however, wish that the light could be turned on/off using the baby unit. Or that it would go off on its own after a set time. But it is a nice feature. The parent unit has a light system to guage how loud the noise is, I havent really found this useful yet, but I guess its a way to have the volume on low and be able to tell if the baby is crying or just talking. I know my so hums himself to sleep sometimes, so it might help in a situation like that. Another feature I havent found useful with the baby is the two-way talk. That isnt to say I havent used it though. I use it quite frequently to call my other son to me without having to yell across the house. I just havent found a way to use it for the baby. But I still love that it has the capability. All in all, this product does exactly what is it is intended for and does it well. I love it and have recommended it to all my friends having babies and even bought one as a baby shower gift. I also want to note that I live in an 1110 square foot apartment. I have reception from everywhere in the apartment. I dont know if there are any other monitors in the building, but there are other babies and small children, and I have never had any interferance.

> 3 dayIts a great monitor with no frills, which you dont want anyway. It picks up baby noise even if the monitor is across the room from baby. Two story house has no problems with connection to the parent unit anywhere in the house as well as back yard. MAJOR FLAWS: The safety warming which is as dB level over 9000 comes on every time you turn on the parent unit. You have to smother it with pillows on the other side of the house in order to not wake up the dead. The warning also goes on and on with an annoying female robot voice, and there is no way to disable it. Same with volume level buttons. They come with beeps at obscene degree of audio level. For these reasons I have a love-hate relationship with this product. I dont know why this has to be so hard.

Greater than one weekWhen we moved our baby girl to her crib in her room, we, of course, needed some sort of monitor. Since we didnt receive the fancy, expensive video monitor at our baby shower that we had registered for, we had to come out-of-pocket for one and had to settle for a more basic, less expensive monitor. Im so glad that someone didnt waste $200 on a monitor with all the bells and whistles! This monitor does everything we need it to. It has good range - in my one-story house Ive never been too far away for it to get signal. The volume is nice and loud at the highest setting and wakes us up when she cries. Theres also a setting for a vibration alert, and it works, but I have yet to use it practically. The nightlight casts a soft amber glow. I love the feature where you can communicate with the Baby unit. There have been many times when my spouse or I have talked back and forth when one of us needed something. We like this monitor so much that, when my mother needed one at her house for when shes caring for our daughter, I recommended this one to her. The only cons I can think of with this unit are minor. 1) I wish the battery on the Parent unit lasted longer. When we have someone babysitting at our house, the Parent unit is always off of the charger (which is in our bedroom) so the sitter can use it in the living room. The charge on it wont last a full day. 2) When you turn off the Baby unit (like when Im at my mothers and feeding my daughter or sleeping in the bedroom and dont wish to have the Parent unit listening in) the Parent unit emits a loud beep every 30 seconds or so. I can understand the practicality of this feature (in case the Baby unit accidentally comes unplugged), but it still bugs me. Overall, I think this is a very good monitor and I would recommend it to anyone!

14-04-2025Just make sure you’re far enough away from baby when you turn on the parent unit or the very obnoxious and loud safety warning will wake them up. Other than that it’s a great product. Wish there was a way to disable the warning since I’ve heard it about 8,000x by now.

> 3 dayCertain reviews will make you doubt, some will even scare you, assuring that they even burned the wall, however, it is an excellent product, it has been connected since my baby sleeps in his room and it has never presented any problems, I love it!

> 3 dayThis works fine, and does the job for which I procured it. I should point out that I am not using it in the traditional way - i.e., to monitor a baby. Rather I am using it to monitor a dog that has a pronounced fear of thunderstorms (not unusual for dogs). I crate my dogs at night in another part of the house. If a thunderstorm arises during the night, my dog will panic and try desperately to escape her (wire) crate. The baby monitor allows me to keep tabs on her during the night, if thunderstorms are likely (I dont use it every night) and I will be awakened by her attempts to escape and can come to her rescue. The baby monitor sender and receiver link with no problems (theyre about 30 feet apart through interior walls). Sound quality is very good, and there is no background noise. So the only time you hear anything from the receiver is when there is actually sound being picked up by the sending unit. The sensitivity can be adjusted to pick up very small sounds or to only pick up louder sounds. My only complaint is that turning the receiver ON and OFF isnt easy. The directions say to Press and hold the power button to turn the unit ON, and Press and hold the power button to turn the unit OFF. However, there is no visual indication of power ON or OFF, and no feedback letting you know which state the unit is in. So it can be a bit tricky to turn it ON, but especially to turn it OFF. A minor annoyance, to be sure, but it points out a design flaw - it should be easier to turn the unit ON/OFF, and there should be a more definitive feedback indicating what state the unit is in.

Greater than one weekWas looking for an audio-only monitor. Most monitors nowadays seem to have a camera installed, and I did not want to spend the extra money for that, as it was not needed. This fit the bill perfectly, and functions quite nicely. Clear audio and beyond easy to operate.
