White Mountain Puzzles Pencil Collage - 1000 Piece Jigsaw Puzzle

Very fun but very hard puzzle. Out of 5 white mountain puzzle I have this took me the longest. Personally I prefer the puzzles that arent so challenging and repetitive but still enjoyed it and this company has very good quality pieces.

This is not the hardest puzzle weve done, but it is a challenge. Some of the pencils are duplicates, and some are upside down. The edge areas are more difficult because they contain mostly erasers or lead points. We liked this puzzle so much, we Modge-Podged it and framed it. Weve had many compliments on it hanging on the wall of the family room. The photography is very good, in that the image is sharp, and the colors are vibrant. As a photographer, the image is slightly warm (yellow), but the colors still tend pop. Some of these pencils bring back memories of the ones we used in school (two color marking pencils). A lot of fun! Highly recommended. We had to buy it from a 3rd party, and it was a bit expensive.

Short backstory: Im getting back into jigsaw puzzles after a long time away. This is the first White Mountain puzzle Ive tried. I dont want to make generalities until I try another, but I may be hesitant before the next purchase. First, the good: - Its an attractive puzzle with great finished looking value - The pieces all come in a plastic bag, so theres no oopsie opening the box - Many of the pieces are delightfully odd-fitting, making the actual puzzle more challenging than it first appears - The puzzle box stand is a cute idea. At least for the border. Now, the not so happy: - Way too many machining errors. I had a lot (and I mean a LOT) of pieces that had to be torn apart, versus just separated - To that point, also way too many pieces stuck together, rather than fully separate - The torn apart pieces left flaps of material that then needed to be ripped off before the piece would fit together (try getting into those tiny puzzle piece gaps to grab that flap of paper) - The puzzle box stand is a nice idea, but becomes mostly useless when you need to do detail work on the puzzle and have to bring the box cover in close. - Tons of puzzle dust. Maybe Ive been spoiled by Buffalo Games puzzles, but this was an awful lot of dust The puzzle was fun and a little more challenging than I expected. As I always do in my puzzle reviews, I like to offer up my puzzle strategy (I always like seeing how others tackle their puzzle solving). For this one, I decided to work all the white pencils first. This turned out to be fortuitous, as most all of the white pencils were right side up. A good puzzle, but for me, that constant stopping and trimming was excruciating. Hopefully, thats not a White Mountain constant and I was just unlucky.

We had fun putting this one together. The different pencil colors, designs and quirky logos were fun. There are quite a few duplicates mixed in so its not super simple.

Most fun puzzle we have done! My husband and I both loved it. We are both retired and during pandemic started doing puzzles.

Puzzle is fun and very challenging. Everything about this transaction was superb. Worked on it for several days and put it up. - saving it for when Im up to the challenge!

That is what I was going for. My brother-in-law is a puzzle nut. This should keep him busy over Christmas break. Photo accurate and it arrived on time.

I’m an avid puzzler and this is by far one of the most enjoyable puzzles I’ve ever built. Pieces are quality and tight. When I finished the puzzle I picked up both corners and easily lifted the entire puzzle off the counter without any pieces breaking. The detail is great and entertaining. Once you get the colors down, it’s quite easy. One of the few puzzles I have that I look forward to doing again!!

I like this puzzle since I can pick a few pencils to put together when I dont have time to work a long time on it. Its going to take awhile to put together!

I enjoy bringing out a puzzle when family comes to visit and this one did not disappoint. I was told I was crazy for wanting to build (what looked like) such a difficult puzzle, but everyone had a good time. The pieces fit together well and are well made. I never balk at buying from White Mountain because they have such great customer service. The puzzle took a few hours to complete, but not too difficult. Loved it!
