White Wizard Games Star Realms: Colony Wars

Solid two person game. Still fun if you add another deck for 4 person play. Most friends seem taken with it once introduced. Though the life counting system really really seems to throw a lot of people off.

Start with the base deck then move on to Colony Wars.

This is a super fun, fast game. We love to play it as a couple and usually end up playing several rounds in a row. We are board game people, and this one definitely makes the cut for us for a fast/short game.

This is an excellent card game. My wife and I purchased this to expand the original star realms that we already had, although we did play it once as a stand alone deck. This game is just as good as the original, and makes a great expansion. I love that there are some new abilities of cards, such as putting a purchased card directly into your hand. We play this game frequently, way more than any other game. We are not avid board game players or card gamers, but this one is certainly an exeption. There is quite a bit of luck involved but there is also strategy, and there are many different strategies you can take.

The box the cards come in was falling apart. It looked like it was used for a year or so by someone who didnt take care of it, and then shipped to me. Would not buy from this buyer again. The only reason it gets 2 stars and not 1 is because the cards are fine enough and playable.

I owned a Colony Wars deck that I thought my kids lost prior to buying this deck. Found the old deck. Compared it to this newer deck. I am very disappointed. They decreased the quality of the cards and now print them on thinner paper. They also got rid of the 20/10/5/1 authority point cards and replaced those multiple cards with two scoring cards that you overlap to mark your score. The problem is if you bump those two scoring cards even slightly you can/will lose your score! These changes are really terrible. Previously I was so impressed by the company and the high quality deck they produced, but this is a big step backward.

My brother and our friends love the Star Realms Deck Building Game! So, it only made sense to buy this stand alone expansion to increase our player number by another two for four player fights. I just hope, sometime soon, they make yet another 2-player stand alone expansion.

I love the game, My gf and I play regularly and ive added colony wars to the collection and plan to buy more expansions to invite friends and family to play as well.
