WiOn 50051 Indoor Wi-Fi Smart Surge Protector; 6 Grounded Outlets

Would be really nice if you could set different timers for the different outlets on the power strip bar. I dont need all 4 devices that are plugged in to turn on and off at the same time. So point is would be nice to be able to pick and choose which plugs turn in and off and different times.

I was expecting to control the 4 Wifi controlled outlets separately but they are all controlled together. Would be worth the $40 price if it had better features such as being able to control individual outlets and also the ability to set timers that control specific outlets. I would suggest the seller update the listing to indicate that the outlets are not controlled individually since the only place it says that is in the small instruction manual provided, even the box just says 4 Wi-Fi controlled outlets and doesnt say they are controlled together.

I am not that handy with this stuff and learned the hard way that following the instructions really helps. The temptation for me is to look at things and think it is instinctive. Dont do that. Follow the directions and you will be successful the first time. it works really well.

Works ok. Make sure to have a strong signal to one wireless router because the device can only be assigned to one router. There is no automation API support. The company is secretive about it. Has limited purpose.

Ive purchased several individual WiFi outlets, and was excited to see a power strip that I thought, incorrectly, would allow for each of the four outlets to be controlled individually. This is clearly stated in the description. I now see that. My decision was based on the pictures. This is my fault. However, I do feel misled by the photos that show Bedroom: lamp and Bedroom: Fan as separate devices to be controlled. Who would need a power strip to individually control a fan or a lamp? That said, the device does function well if you want to turn on four devices at the same time. **Update: 6 months** Id give this fewer stars if I could. I didnt use it for a few months and now I cant even get it to find my home network when the device is in the same room as my router. Always searching for a router, never finding. Seems like very low grade everything. But it still looks pretty, so I guess Ive got a paper weight.

WiFi signal from unit never became visible. Poorly written instructions.

I bought this to control lighting and fan ventilation on a timer for a heavily planted terrarium, and I really wanted to like it. I was getting tired of constantly turning on and off the lights, not to mention frequently forgetting to do it on time (resulting in a wide range of photoperiods from day to day, not good for plant growth). This worked great the first couple days, but then it started turning itself off at random times, anywhere from 3-10 pm (I have it set to shut off at 11 pm every day). Id turn it back on from the app, and the next time I checked (maybe an hour later), it had already turned itself off again. This has been happening every single day since the issue first started. In fact, using this outlet strip is probably more work than when I was turning the lights on and off myself manually. Ive deleted the daily timer program I set up and added it back again thinking that might help, but Im going to return it, its just way too unreliable. Its almost like its using random mode even though Ive set it up to use timer mode. The app also looks (and functions) like it was designed by a high school student... its terrible. TL;DR: zero stars, dont buy it

I have some security concerns - the first time you configure the device it looks like you have to transmit your wifi password to it over an un-encrypted connection. After that though it looks fine - though keep in mind that any phone on your home wifi with this app installed can control the device as well. Other than that, the unit seems to work well. The app is functional if a little rough around the edges. Ive disabled cloud mode which means I can only alter the schedule or force on/off the device when my phone is within range of my home wireless network.

Once you get it to sync it works great:) will buy more
