This unit has the slowest response rate, and is wide and cheap feeling. Yes there are magnets on the bottom but in order to use it for MY intended purpose, to get the correct angle of sharpening knives, the display has to face perpendicular to the blade to get an angle, which makes it very difficult to get and maintain accuracy. An example is that the angle should be 25 degrees - it literally takes about 30 seconds to get there after a zero, slowly moving 0.1 at a time, if you go too far you wont know for a few seconds, then you go back the other way and it takes a few seconds, and you have to go back and forth past 25deg at least 5 times till it registers. And trying to maintain the angle on a moving blade is impossible, i can get halfway through the blade and accidentally slip to 32 degrees, which messes with the edge, because it doesnt tell me (when i can see it, see first part above) until I have been at the wrong angle for several seconds, which is a long time in a blade pass. You can pass the blade at 25deg and get to the end and check that now it reads 28.2 of 21.6 - it is impossible to keep perfect angle alignment with the viewing position AND the slowness of response rate. Returning.

I never completely trusted the scale on my table saw. This gauge ensures the angle is right.

As long as your reference surface is accurate your setting results should follow.

Bought this to replace a old one that I dropped and broke. its quick and easy to set up and gives you the angle. great for my saws and even my milling machine. I still use dial indicator on my mill but this will give me a quick reference to check the head tram.

Solid product. It’s very accurate and easy to use. I recently got a chance to test out the 45 degree measurement, and it’s dead on. Would highly recommend!
