I really love this little radio!...it is VERY rugged (believe me, I have REALLY put it to the test) I have always been a Yaesu guy, and will always be...Great raidios at an affordable cost. Lots of features...like all radios, it can be hard to program by hand, so I recommend getting the programming software ( RT systems ADMS-65-USB) which makes it REALLY easy to do...battery charge lasts a couple of days after medium use, but get a long life spare battery...I highly recommend this little radio

Nice HT solid construction easy to use menus... It only comes with a condensed version of the manual. Need to download the full version “advanced user” manual from the Yaesu website to understand all the functions. The stock antenna is a solid performer. Radio seems very well built. Most problems are because it is such a new product in the Yaesu line. Not many accessories available yet, no CHIRP support yet as of 2/2018. No real YouTube tutorials yet. This is an awesome first radio for a new Tech or a nice glove-box rig for an experienced ham.

easy to program and set up

This is good little HT. No bells or whistles but thats what I wanted. I have to say its a step up from a Baofeng (not that there bad) . The build quality is good, not that hard to program even using the keys. I have a roll up slim jim antenna hanging from the pull chain of my ceiling fan and can hit repeaters 15+ miles away.

The Radio came brand new in original box with all accessories the only thing is that price what is too high cause they usually sell for 89 dollars at buy two way radio and ham radio stores the only reason I bought it here is cause I had some Amazon gift card or els I would have bought somewhere els for a better price I even called yaesu and told them that they we’re selling this item way to expensive on Amazon they were going to look into that well other than that everything seems to work just fine I also did the Mars mod on it and it unlocked right away so I’m happy about that

Excellent craftmanship. Easy handling. Top quality materials and very customizable.

Like any similar device I had to read the manual twice to fully understand how to manually program repeaters, etc. Otherwise the memory and VFO modes are intuitive to set up and operate. The speaker sound quality is very good and plenty loud for my purposes. Lastly I had no problem hitting a repeater three towns away using 5W and the rubber ducky antenna. I do plan on getting a longer antenna that is better suited for 2 meter operation.
