I stumbled upon YoLink while searching on the internet for separate smart temperature and smart humidity sensors for several automation projects in my home, so I was excited to find they have a temperature/humidity sensor (in a single unit). As an electronics and home automation enthusiast, I have since been adding them all over my home. Here are a couple pictures, and here are some applications Ive tried out or will be implementing in my home: Automating control of exhaust fan in bathroom - turn on fan before the room steams up during a shower/bath Keeping an eye on a fridge on its last leg Monitoring the temp and humidity of a bearded dragon tank. Both are very important. I also have automations to turn the heat lamp on if it gets too cold. My daughter, its her pet, has the app installed and receives notifications of problems with the temp or humidity. I also have a general tank light on a smart plug, on a schedule. I am going to be installing a whole house fan soon, and I want to use these, in most rooms of the house, to slow or turn off the fan, as well as to control ceiling fans in the bedrooms (to turn them down or off as it starts to get too cold at night, with the WHF running all night, otherwise). The ceiling fans are on Lutron Caseta switches, but the Alexa and IFTTT.com integration allows for automations that include multiple brands. Very flexible! I can see additional uses for this, keeping an eye on a wine cellar, a leaky basement (in conjunction with their Water Sensor), an unoccupied property or building or room subject to damage from freezing, extreme heat or humidity (and mold and other resulting issues). Thats a great price, too. Which is good, because I plan to get more of them!

I purchased three of the YoLink Humidistats to run 4 brand new humidifiers. I bought them to start this frigid, dry air, winter. Thats One YoLink Humidistat on Two Humidifiers in the Great Room (Living Rm, Dining Rm.) and they run better than I could have ever expected using the YoLink Humidity Meters. Im also running One YoLink Humidistat in the Kitchen and Master Bedroom, each Running one humidifier in each room. This takes total care of the first floor of my home. Its so comfortable now, I cant say enough. They start when humidity gets below 45% and shut off when humidity gets above 50%, restart at 45% and again stop at 50%, thats 24x7. Start and Stop humidity levels are up to you. So Good I bought and am waiting enough to do second floor. YoLink has been so easy to set up. All their devices are about two steps to get you on the YoLink app. Once you see them on the app, you may need a few tips with support because they do so much. Give them a call like I did on my first humidistat and Ive set up the rest by myself.

I confused two products that I bought. Check my Govee review for this YoLink item. I blame Amazon for not having the product brand name on the items to review page … and the icon photos are extremely small! Amazon gets a 2 star on that “service”

Setup was a breeze, the app works great on my Samsung Galaxy Note 2, and I have peace of mind in my food retail facility. As an engineer who was involved in the early days of LoRa, its great to see how far it has come in terms of ease of use and reliability. Range is second to none, I have one sensor located in a metal, walk in cooler about 200 ft from the hub, and the signal is still strong.

Im usually skeptical with low cost devices, but I was in a situation to see if I needed to buy a new fridge, but wanted to know what was going on with it since it was starting to give me issues. So I purchased the temp/humidity sensor. Let me tell you, this system is awesome! The set-up was amazingly easy, and it was true to its word that it has a long distance connection. I have the fridge on opposite ends of my 2k sq ft home. It goes through walls and sends a signal to the (dedicated, sold separately wifi base) and provides me with notifications on my cell phone as I pre-set the qualifying conditions in which to notify me. Ive been talking to my friends about this unit. Highly recommend it.

Although YoLink does not support the major home automation protocols like Z-Wave, Zigbee, Matter or Thread, these devices have a major plus, they work, they work the first time and very easy to set up which cannot be said for the above protocols. Adjustment provided if you need to make an adjustment to temperature readings, mine were close enough that I did not bother. History display is excellent and alarms seem to work as intended. Note that it requires its own hub but the hub is inexpensive and only one is needed. I have not tried to get system to work with Google so can not speak to that. Excellent for use in freezers, work well through the steel box.

Worked easily out of the box (I already owned the hub). Like many, I am using in a cold environment, my refrigerator. So the notification from the device occurs when the temperature goes DOWN. But in these applications, I am obviously concerned if the temperature goes UP, indicating a malfunction or power outage in my frig. UPDATE: I subsequently figured out that one can custom specify a normal range of temps, and be notified when the temp falls outside the range. Now 5 stars.

This device saved me a lot of grief. I put it in the refrigerator and discovered the temperature was going up into the 40’s overnight. The digital fridge temp always said it was 37, so I wouldn’t have know there was an issue until the fridge conked out. I got the fridge fixed before it was a huge hassle. This device is worth every penny!
