Update 4 months later. 5 stars to 1 star. Outlet no longer responds to smartthings. It will report its state(on or off) but it will not respond to on or off commands via smartthings or alexa. Attempted to remove device and re pair, but it does not show up. It is a paperweight now. Power load on device was 8 watts. Should not have died with such little amperage. This paired with smartthings very easily. I use it to automatically turn on the under cabinet lights when there is motion. I like that it leaves enough access to the other outlet on the wall. The second unswitched output is a big plus. Alexa found it no problem.

The product listing shows a UL label on the back of the device. However they dont actually have a UL label. Searching for the UL number in the photo it comes up with a different manufacturers product. This is not UL listed.

I have used other name brands in the past but wanted to try something else. I like it better. The unit is smaller but still provides two outlets; One Z-Wave and one standard. You can turn the unit on/off manually via the button on the front which lights up in white when in use. The instructions provided were comprehensive. I was able to get it to pair with my SmartThings hub without issue the first time. Would absolutely buy again for an indoor lamp/plug module.

I tried two of these. The first one could never be found by SmartThings. Returned. The second one could be found, and paired but was inoperable from SmartThings, with some sort of error returnned. Replaced with a Minoston MP21ZD which I had set up in 5 minutes.

I liked this unit initially because it has a 3 prong socket. Why does everyone think lamps dont have 3 prong plugs? This is the only dimmer I found that can accommodate a three prong plug. Unfortunately these burn out after a while even when used on low current LED lamps. Ive also had trouble with some new units not working correctly when I try to program them. One unit did not seem to report the type of unit correctly. Too many problems, and burned out units are useless.

I bought this because it has a grounded plug, unlike other smart plugs. However, Im pretty sure it uses traditional front-edge dimming, rather than trailing edge dimming, leading LED bulbs to flicker when the dimmer is lower. I purchased the Leviton DZPD3-2BW as an alternative, and it does a much better job dimming the LEDs.

I purchased this product to extend my zwave signal but its not doing it. I have another outlet about 20 ft further out and it doesnt respond. It was easy to install and works fine as outlet NOT AS ZWAVE EXTENDER. Will have to return and try an actual Zwave extender.
