I was needing to drill assorted size holes in 2 pvc piping. This set worked perfectly for that project.

I was very hopeful because the price was great and it could arrive quickly for a project I was working on, but disappointed with the quality. Hole saws were stacked on top of each other which makes sense for space saving in the packaging, but they were jammed so tightly together it took me 30 minutes to separate them. They were also covered in machine oil of some sort. The worst part was the reliability... I was drilling through hardwood and making decent progress, until I just couldnt make it any further. Pulled out the hole saw and found all the teeth were ground down and literally gone. This literally happened in less than a minute. In my 40 years of doing construction projects Ive never seen anything like it, but I guess you get what you pay for. I ended up going to the hardware store to pick up a quality hole saw and it went through the wood I was working on with no issue. Possibly I just got a product that wasnt manufactured properly / properly hardened so I dont want to 100% rule out this product as good but buyer beware.

I hardly ever leave reviews, but I was so disappointed in this product that I felt compelled to warn others in this case. Upon opening, the inside of the packaging was dirty and looked used. The drill bit snapped within 60 seconds of use on a pre-drilled hole and the actual hole cutters were so useless that it was actually smoking and burning the wood before it actually cut it. I ended up just going to home depot to buy a craftsman set since I needed the job done, and that one did in 30 second what it took these about 10 minutes to do. Dont even bother with this set.

I tried to use the largest 2.5 hole saw to cut through 2 of wooden floor from my crawlspace towards my distribution panel to run some conduit. The hole in the saw which normally has two flats to drive it, rounded out so that it no longer works (see picture for comparison of good drive hole vs bad). As the largest hole saw in the pack this is the most torque demanding. However the saw was evidently insufficiently hardened for the task, hence the 1-star for durability.

I ordered this because I needed to cut a bunch of 2.25-inch holes into a 1/2 plywood. After cutting the first hole the cutout was stuck in the saw. I had to disassemble the whole thing and smash it on the ground to get the wood out of the saw. The next time I tried cutting from the top and then I tried to finish by cutting the other side of the board. Again it got stuck and I still cant get the wood out. After all this effort I ended up going to home depot and got myself a Milwaukee single-hole saw and it cost as much as this entire set, but I was able to cut out 10 more holes in the time it took me to get one drilled with this set. Cheaper is not always better. This saw cannot access the underside or remove the cut wood. It also doesnt seem to cut in a way to create space for the wood to come out. Really I dont understand what this would be good for.

This is a pretty good set of hole saws. The price is right and the quality of the components are good.

Bought these since the set I had was missing a size or two. Used it to cut into some very dense plywood using my drill. It got hot enough to smoke so I had to stop and let it cool a few seconds and use a wire brush to remove the wood that got stuck on the teeth, but after a couple of bites it made it through each time. No warping or damage to teeth after drilling about a dozen holes. I also liked this one because it came with one drill bit for all the hole saws, unlike another set I returned where some of the hole saws only fit the larger drill bit which was too big for my 3/8 drill.

So I bought this product - gasp - to drill holes. There are two shanks, one of which is for the larger saws, and one for the smaller saws. The larger one works okay. The smaller one is utter and complete, well, fertilizer. So the way it works is this: the little drill bit has an indentation on it. You stick the drill bit into the shank, and then tighten down a little allen screw to hold the drill bit in. But the allen screw isnt flush to the surface of the shank. This leads to two problems. The first is that the allen screw is softer than a babys bottom. Any pressure at all and it just strips out. The second problem is that you cant slide the saw down over the shank when the allen screw is protruding. So what you end up with is a drill that you can only barely make work, if at all. Its garbage. Utter and complete garbage. I tried to think of ways to get around the problem and I managed to make the holes I needed. Its really not well suited for the kind of plastic I had to drill into - it seemed to actually melt the plastic and bunch it up around the edge. That was easily fixed with a file, so that one is just a lesson learned. But the fact that it has zero durability and is pretty much unfit for purpose is a deal breaker. Im probably going to order a better set and run over this one with a truck. With this kind of durability, no way will it damage the tires.

The set that I already owned didnt have the size that I needed, so I purchased this set. My only complaint is that where the stamp is that displays the size was so shallow on some of them that I had to get my measuring tape out to determine the size. Other than that, it worked perfectly.

I uses this on sheets of plywood and I struggle to get the 2 and 2 1/4 pieces apart. I have used it on fir and I think maple. It seems like it struggles to cut through a little bit but the maple it actually split some of it on the backside so it looks bad. Luckily I will be covering it in carpet so it wont be seen but I still had to touch it up so the carpet doesnt get cut up. Overall gets the job done but wouldnt buy it for any specialized projects or anything fancy.
