Theres not a lot to say about steel blanks, but these are as advertised: well-packaged, corrosion-free, dimensions are as promised. I lack the lab equipment to verify the carbon content, but Im confident these are going to produce excellent results.

Good steel! Personally, I think they’re best to cut up and layer for some pattern welding, which is how I’ll be using them. They’re awfully thin at 1/8, but if you don’t take anything off the spine, you could make a decent smaller blade. They came clean, oiled to prevent rust, and wrapped in moisture-proof paper. Really happy with these blanks.

What can you say about steel flat stock? They came in a four pack, exactly as described. No complaints.

I’m new to knife making and bought these blanks to practice some of the basics on. I have a friend who has made a few knives and told me to order this steel. So far I’ve only cut out a basic shape with my angle grinder and that part went OK. This being my first time using steel to fabricate a knife I have nothing to compare this particular steel to. So far all I can say is that I have not run not any problems using it.

They arrived in perfect shape. No rust, corrosion, or warping. Very well packaged. Call me crazy but I got these because the price was right and you can never have too many supplies on-hand. Once I turn them into something, I will revisit this review.

This seems like good metal. I dont know how to verify its properties, but as I use it more, Ill update this if anything changes. Came wrapped well enough. You can see it was not cut up carefully, the ends are still rough with burrs, but not terrible. Couple dings here and there, but nothing that will cause a problem. Dont expect perfect pieces. So far I like it, would recommend.

My husband is a full time bladesmith. I ordered these on a whim as he is teaching a class in the near future and was hoping to not have to use more of his high quality, expensive steel to teach damascas basics. He was excited when he saw these and was surprised that they were so clean. The measurements were also spot on which is relatively rare these days. None were bowed nor crooked. He said it was very sturdy and each blank was very clean and very strong with very minimal flexing. Hes excited to see how they handle under some heat.

Making knives? This 4 pack of flat steel bars is exactly the material to get. This 1095 stock is 12x1.5x0.12 in size and high carbon that has been rolled and annealed. When I opened the package, I noted it was in three different layers of rust proof oil and paper and then also bubble wrapped to help prevent damage and rust. I cannot imagine a better steel product for knife making or even using it in welding or as a spacer. It is a steal for the quality it brings too.

Probably not the cheapest way to buy 1095 stock, but if you dont have a metal supply store near you, this is a convenient form factor for a knife blank or two. Cold rolled and partially annealed, this arrived at about 310 Vickers. For a stock removal forming process, thats fine-- it doesnt skate a file. There was a bit of a bow, which isnt uncommon with partial annealing of cold rolled, but might frustrate a beginner who got the most warped piece they ship and cant easily flatten it. But it was well packed in anti-corrosive and I measured it at 0.10.
