The supplied cooler didnt fit my motherboard, completely my fault for not double checking compatibility. It was an easy install and had thermal paste properly pre-applied. So far its been great for professional level photo editing and some light gaming.

This thing comes pre-overclocked. If you just drop it into the socket and turn off cool and quiet mode it will run at 3.8 GHz (0.4 GHz more than it says on the box) even if the motherboard isnt capable of OC. The ease at which this thing overclocks is absolutely crazy. Theres also a little known app for the type of processor called the Ryzen Master App that will manage the processor, the voltage and the RAM overclocking. With a tweak and a restart it makes changing overclock settings really easy. The only thing you need is a motherboard capable of overclocking a processor (for just tweaking the settings).

Good CPU, can handle the majority of things I throw at it with ease, and worth it over the 2600X of you overclock it. I recommend overclocking using AMD Ryzen Master, its free software from AMD and works really well

Comes with the thermal paste pre-applied. This model does not include the RGB lights. Really easy to apply and works straight out of the box with the ASUS B450 Plus motherboard.

There is so much to love about AMDs latest offering. I installed mine with only a single stick of 8gb 3000mhz memory (gskill) and it benched 160 single core performance on Cinebench R15.
