Blackmagic Design Davinci Resolve Speed Editor Bundle with Davinci Resolve 17 Studio (Activation Card) (2 Items)

Honestly, just for its amazing color grading capabilities, I was going to buy Davinci Resolve Studio. Then I found if I buy the Speed Editor for the price of the Studio software, they throw in the Studio software at no extra cost.

Works as advertised for the Cut Page in Resolve. One slight improvement for me would be the USB-C port location. With it on the back of the device, the straight cable sticks out the back. I like to position my keyboard behind it, and the cable is pushing it further back. I ordered a right-angle adapter to remedy this; however, if the port were located on the side, this wouldnt be an issue.

It comes with great software and its licensed for life which makes it a fantastic buy.

After over 10 years of development, Resolve still cannot do the most basic things. Splines and keyframes are buried in microscopic, convoluted windows with extremely poor controls and absurdly complex layouts, making what should take 30 seconds take 30 minutes or more. The video editor has a litany of design flaws, such as video clips which cannot be brought into a timeline more than once, audio controls which are invisible against the waveforms and unusable while playing, and basic adjustment keyframes which will become stuck, unable to ease in or out, or will simply cause adjustment parameters to move in wild, unpredictable ways which take unreasonably long times to repair due to the horrific, tiny GUIs.

I used this for a few months and it stopped opening. I updated GPU drivers and even did a full Windows reinstallation. I cannot access any of my client projects, including a feature-length documentary. Blackmagic Design will not refund me and told me to check where I bought it. A registered software license would be easy enough to deactivate and refund if they were willing to stand behind their product. I fully regret this purchase.

Davinci Resolve is a flexible and deep software that I’m only beginning to scratch the surface of. Coupled with the power of the Speed Editor hardware interface and the “Cut Page” in Resolve 17 it is becoming easier, and faster, to build a video.

This is a nicely built keyboard for quickly putting a project together in Davinci Resolve. The weight and the smoothness of the track wheel is really nice and it has all the important keys for working on a project in the cut page. I like that it has a built in battery and can be used wirelessly via bluetooth, or you can plug it in directly to your computer if you prefer. This is a no brainer if you can get it as part of the deal bundled with Davinci Resolve Studio. I was able to pick mine up via amazon through the seller Kellards when I saw it in stock. I had previously been waiting on a back order with another vendor for 4 months. If you see it in stock and want it all I can say is buy it now!

The buttons and the wheel are so high quality! My wife loves to click away on it.

I actually wanted just Resolve 17 Studio. The Speed Editor was a bonus!

This panel was specifically designed for Davinci Resolve’s Cut Page, as such, it works perfectly. However, I primarily use the Edit Page and still find this very useful. I’m not after the “speed”. I’m an amateur editor so I’m in no hurry when I’m editing. Instead, this brings a ton of convenience. Having the search knob and other short cut keys makes editing a bit more fun. Worth it especially as bundled with DVR Studio.
