I feel that every photographer needs this lens in their arsenal. I use this for close-up photography, and it always results in beautiful pictures! The image is very sharp and the background is blurred to the perfect amount. The color saturation is also wonderful. The cleaning tools that it comes with are an added on bonus.

Nifty fifty makes awesome shots! Its budget but the optics really are better than a kit lens or zoom.

Extremely high quality portrait photos. Used this lens to take pictures for our Christmas cards and everyone asked where we had our pictures taken. Awesome lens.

Unbelievable value. This lens, shot wide open, makes incredibly beautiful portraits and great lighting bokeh effects. The accessories that came with it are nice throw-ins but the value is really in the lens. Great buy.
