> 3 dayI owned Lexmark Pinter about 4 of them and 3 HP. I like this one the best, even it was less expensive than my other printer. Reason: I never had a printer in which the Ink lasted 3X as long as Lexmark, the other printer nickel and dimes you to dead over the ink to expensive and does not last. Cannon ist excellent

> 3 dayReceived the printer on time. Set up was easy and compatable with Windows Vista. The printer itself is slow starting on B&W & color copies.Scanning a item or picture is a little more challenging. The software could be more computer friendly for seniors. Overall very happy with printer and Amazon. Will continue to shop regularly....

> 3 dayAfter my wife went through two HP All-in-One printers, I turned to the Canon MP480. We are glad I did. The unit seems to be much better made and is certainly more durable. The ease of use and print quality has a wow factor and Canon is known for the quality of its photos. If you have stuck with HP over the years like me, this Canon is worth considering.

> 3 dayFirst off, this printer has met all my needs. I am a poor college student who needs an all in one printer but cant afford those crazy $300-400 dollar printers. This MP-480 fulfills all of my expectations and is great! Here were my printer criteria. 1) scanner to scan pictures and trading cards to sell on ebay, 2) color printer and copier because the library doesnt have color printers (I need color copies for projects and papers that involve pictures) and copier to make those emergency copies when I dont have time to go to the library, 3) something not too big. The MP480 fills all those needs. First it looks very stylish and folds up very nicely to prevent dust from getting into anywhere. And, it makes great photocopies, good enough scans of pictures and trading cards, and prints like a charm. Basically if you run a home office, this printer isnt for you because its kind of slow when making copies and runs out of ink quickly. Pros; Very easy to install cartridge (unlike my former HP deskjet .. hated installing cartridge.. believe it or not would take an hour sometimes), compact and nice design (basically is like a box when all folded up to make easy to carry and store), all in one printer, lcd screen is very simple to operate and not complicated, paper adjusting mechanism installed on paper tray that makes it so easy to print photos, $50 rebate when order from B+H, The only cons: doesnt come with printer cable, scanner quality is about average, is loud when printing, not wireless, and toner goes out quickly. For the toner issue when you buy the replacement cartridge in XL I heard that the ink lasts so much longer. You should opt for that if you end up purchasing this printer. Hey, but in the end this printer I would highly recommend to any college student! All those cons was after about a 1/2 month of usage is because I am very picky. But really, I have no right to complain because I payed $80 for all these things. One printer, copier, or color copier alone cost that much money. And with the proposed $50 rebate that BH promised me, I basically will pay $30 for this printer!!! after the rebate comes from BH. I have yet to receive the $50 rebate, but B+H has a very good record and I trust that they will deliver on their promise

> 3 dayI dont use my printer very often, maybe twice a week at most. I expect a printer to last at least 2 years with such limited use, this one made it 15 months. The LCD display screen started fading out and became difficult to read after a year, now there is nothing on the display. At the 15 month mark it starting saying there was a paper jam even though there isnt one. I like the easy set up and never had a problem with the scanner or the print quality. The photo printing was so-so, definitely not a high quality photo printer. I just wish it wouldnt have broken so quickly.

> 3 dayI am a college student and I have this printer in my room and I love it. I get a lot of printing for the ink and the ink is not killer expensive either. Its just overall a good buy. Plus it has a scanner/copier in it and both work very well also!

> 3 dayI have been a HUGE fan of Canon printers for many years. In fact I have only bought Canon for my own computers, having listened to complaints and problems about every other brand from all of my friends. The price alone on this MP480 (I paid $49.50 for it, with a $20 mail in rebate-making the total cost less than $30!!!!) makes it an incredible value, but it is also the best one yet for printing speed, quality and functionality. I LOVE the fact that it will print, copy AND scan all in one very compact machine! Goodbye stand-alone HP scanner, I never cared much for you anyway. And the fact that you can print photos from your camera and make copies without the computer even being turned on, is just awesome. Not only does it support pictbridge (plugging your camera into the printer) but it also has slots for your memory cards and a pop-up screen with a very functional menu to take care of almost any printing need, sans computer! It was a snap to set up, installed without a single glitch and, unlike the other reviewer who had difficulty with what they perceived as an antiquated, unhelpful print-head alignment program, I also found that process to be simple, fast and easy. PLEASE NOTE: If this is your first USB printer, you will need to purchase a USB cable because it doesnt come with one. So, why not 5 stars? I do have two complaints: 1. The best thing to come along with printers in the last 15 years was Canons innovative use of separate cartridges for each color. They last 10 times longer and save money by ONLY having to replace the single color that is out. There is only one possible reason why Canon has decided to stray from that smart technology - MONEY. Less ink in a more expensive cartridge means more money in Canons pockets. Still, these cartridges are cheaper than comparable ones for Epson or Lexmark printers and I have NOT found that the ink disappears any faster than other brands with a similar quantity of ink (buy the XL replacement cartridges for a better value) 2. I loved the auto-shut off feature of my ip2000. I never had to turn it off or power it back up. When I needed to print, I simply hit the print key and it did its thing. The MP480 either needs to stay on all the time (the menu screen does turn itself off after 5 minutes of non-use) or you have to turn it on and let it go through its lengthy routine every time you want to use it. That said, the quiet mode is quiet, the print quality is superb and the footprint on my desk isnt much more than my ip2000 and the multifunction MP480 allowed me to get rid of my bulky scanner, so even with its two drawbacks, this one is a definite keeper!
