This is the best shaving soap Ive ever used. It smells like almonds. It forms a very slippery surface on your face enabling your safety razor to glide over your face like a knife through butter. Judging how little the level of Cella shaving soap moved down in the plastic container I put it in, it will last for a great length of time. I absolutely love and will use it from now on. If you are sitting on the fence with regards to trying it, try it. You wont regret it. I hope this review helps.

Cella is an Italia shave soap that is fairly soft and has a mild almond scent. It took a day or two to get the feel for the right amount of water to use in lathering it, but once I had that down, it produces a slick and thick lather that really gives a great shave. The one kilo block is a great value per shave. It is likely to last well over a year. I look forward to my morning shave knowing that I am using Cella.

This IS the best shaving soap there is, nothing beats it. Classic tallow-based formula unchanged in >100 years still made by the same factory out of Milan Italy, lathers easily on your face, is buttery smooth beyond belief, washes off easily, and does not leave any perfume behind. You will get a close perfect shave with ANY blade, even an old one.. This is a couple of notches above Pro-Raso ones, which I also have but now cannot go back. Some in Italy say that the formulation in this 1-kilo brick is slightly different (better) than the one in the red tub..Be mindful that you need to keep it sealed in a cool dry place, wrapped in additional saran wrap (comes wrapped in plastic) for good preservation. Tallow-based products will get rancid if exposed to air unprotected for long time periods. Similarly, get yourself a screw-lid container for your day-to-day use. If you buy the super-expensive English tallow-based ones, youre throwing money out the window. This IS the one.

Absolute delight to use. One pass with razor instead of multiple passes results in a very smooth shave. Mild almond scent very pleasant.

CELLA Shaving cream Soap is a great product. You will not go wrong buying this soap. The fragrance has a slight almond smell. The best thing about this shaving soap is how soft the soap is (makes it easier to lather with a brush) and the quality of lather it produces. The lather produces a very slick surface to shave with. The XL GIANT size is the best bang for your buck. If you dont want to get it, buy the smaller version. I already have a shaving bowl and old CELLA container (ex: small red one). I just cut off a piece of the soft soap and press it into my old container. I store the rest in a giant zip-lock bag. Lastly, this stuff will last forever. I shave my head and face regularly (2-3 times a week). I bought the XL GIANT size about 3 years ago....yeah, 3 years ago and still have a little left. I just bought another XL GIANT because I only have a little left. So if you only shave your face, this stuff will probably last you much longer than it did me...which is great :)

This soap softens my heavy beard for a comfortable shave. I bought a block and cut pieces for my shaving mug. Use a badger brush to make a thick lather. I soak brush in boiling hot water while I shower, shake out excess water and work up a lather as thick as from an aerosol can from drug store. Lubricates my skin for a close straight razor shave and does not razor burn. Ive used about half my block over 5 or 6 years. Keep the block in a plastic food bag to maintain moisture level. Cover your mug too. This is my everyday soap.

I shave in the shower, by feel, with a dull old Gilette Mach III, from south to north, against the grain. I use a boar brush (Omega Pro) and work for less than a minute to get the lather up, using water that drips off my nose onto the soap in some random mug I got for free. Ive been using Cella for a year now. This stuff creates the best lather I have ever experienced from a shaving soap. I was afraid I would not like the almond smell, but its really really subtle and, as others have said, pleasant! Forget all the boutique overpriced quadruple-milled nonsense. Just buy a kilo of Cella, press a small amount into the bottom of a free mug you got at a convention, and you wont need anything for a couple years. It makes lather like Barbasol, only smells better and all-natural and no waste.

Received within two weeks or placing the order. This shaving soap smells wonderful and seems to last forever. It takes so very little to create a lather.

Love the scent! It has a very slick, creamy feel that makes the blades glide over your skin.
