I took this bag to South America. I loved everything about it- until I had to gate check it. I arrived in Brazil and the suitcase was wet from rain in Miami and all of my clothes were wet inside the suitcase. That was a bummer.

Typical Timbuk2 excellent design and execution, is disappointingly -- or deceptively? -- not sized as indicated. The Mediums measurements are shown on the website to be measured from floor to top of handle, which is the correct way to measure (e.g., from Uniteds website: The maximum dimensions for a carry-on bag are 9 inches x 14 inches x 22 inches (22 cm x 35 cm x 56 cm), including handles and wheels.). However, when measured properly, this bag measures just over 23 -- that is, its not in compliance. The bag was not measured by Timbuk2 including handles and wheels, even though the graphics on their site seem to show that it was -- instead, the measurements are for the bag only. If you get this bag for domestic travel, you might be forced to check it (for that matter, if you get the small for international travel, its not in compliance either). Timbuk2 is far from alone in using deceptive measurements, the majority of bagmakers seem to do the same.

I really like this roller bag. It is carry-on compliant as of November 2016. It is a great size, about as big of a roller bag as you can have, and it is good looking too. I have taken many trips with this luggage and it still looks and performs like new. My roller had an unfortunate encounter with mud once but it cleaned off quickly and easily. The roller blade wheels make for smooth travel. I use the small front pocket to put my important documents and TSA approved baggie of liquids for quick and organized access through security. The clamshell design makes organization easy and access to your gear convenient.

Saw expandable in the product description. Just got off the phone with Timbuk2 customer service. They claim the front pouch and upper shoe compartment are expandable when used. Using expandable in the product description was misleading for me. Looked at many bags before choosing this, expandable (when applicable) meant the entire bag would expand. Will be returning this.

I got the 20 copilot roller in the color Midway. First off, the color of the front flap turned out to be more of a gray than the taupe-ish color in the picture, and with that, the black main color, and navy accents, it looks better than I had expected. The design is great, in that you can open it wide for packing, and the mesh zippered covers over each side keep everything in place. I like being able to access one side from the outside zipper flap. I also really like the small pocket on the end, which is advertised for storing smaller items you might want to be able to access from the overhead bin during flight. It is big enough to fit a pair of my womens size 10 shoes, or a few days worth of dirty laundry. The wheels are super smooth and quiet, as advertised, and the bicycle handlebar-inspired handle is comfortable. My only real complaint it that I found the bag somewhat tippy when I rolled it around corners or on curbs. Overall a great, sharp-looking bag that should last a good long time.

I bought a second one because I really liked the first one. They are a nice size and very sturdy. The wheels are the best part.

This case appears, feels, and performs like a mid range bag.

This luggage is the perfect size for a weekend getaway or short trip. its solid, well built and the handles on the top and side allow you to carry the luggage from the top handle or the side handle. It also has a telescoping handle so you can pull it on the sturdy wheels. My wife and I recently took a trip and when we landed at our destination one of our bags was totally demolished. When I pulled the hanles out it came all the way out. Then there was no backbone left in the luggage. One of the wheels was torn off sideways..... the luggage was unusable. With that experience in mind I checked this Timbuk2 Copilot luggage over and found the construction to be very solid... especially the roller system. Good luggage!!!

Although I have not had a chance to use it yet I love all the features this bag has to offer. Easy access from the outside and the shoe compartment are great ideas.

I travel weekly and have been through a lot of carry on bags. This is not an international carry on. This bag Rocks! Made very well and the compartments are all in the right spots. I especially like the access panel on the front. The skateboard wheels are stable and smooth and look like thy will hold up fantastic
