Installed inside the cage easily, this is the second one I have purchased . My conure loves to sit and chew on it .

I own four of these. I take them out and clean them with Dawn. I gave “sturdiness” 4 stars because one of them broke (a clean break) while I was cleaning it. I had to create new holes in order to rehang it. My birds love them and get upset when I take them out. Today I received my 5th. It’s the first I’ve received in purple. That was exciting. Lol.

The surface is not super rough so doesn’t hurt bird’s feet. However, my bird likes to sleep on it and poops all over it. Then proceeds to walk in that poop and gets the perch and his feet all nasty! I ended up taking the perch out because cleaning it every day was too much of a hassle since you can’t just wipe it off, you have to clean it under hot running water to get all the poop out of the grooves. Still a good perch, but not for birds who spend lots of time on it.

I decided my birds needed a new perch since they had chewed up the edges of the old one. They took to the purple relatively quickly. The dark color does show the poop. Next time I’ll go with yellow.

Ive bought twice (2 at a time) about to buy a 3rd time but then saw bad reviews about rust? I didnt experience this, and Im very careful with my rats, whom I use these for. So I just wanted to reassure potential buyers that these are great. I love rearranging them in my rat cage and my babies love them.

Buyer Beware: Its a gamble what quality youll get, and dont be surprised if theres rust. Just return or replace rusted products instead of using them, since you dont know what caused such damage in the first place. The Story: When I purchased this perch (horizontal version), I just clicked the basic add to cart option. My issue may have been seller based, but as the default purchase option, Im considering it a product defect. I ordered one of these perches, and it arrived with the washer/bolts covered in rust, water spots, scratches, and just overall clearly damaged and in no way pet safe. I returned the first perch, and had it replaced with a 2nd - maybe it was a fluke. The 2nd perch arrived, and it had the exact same damage - metal parts covered in rust and damage, but still bought and treated like new. I ended up purchasing the same product, on a different listing from a different default seller - I didnt have this rust problem with that perch, but saw a review of someone that had. It made me think that these were probably mass produced overseas, and bought in bulk by various Amazon seller accounts, so its up in the air whether youll get a rusted out perch or a nice one. Regardless, it made me completely mistrust this product, and all perches have been returned. This would be great if I could trust it wasnt rusted out or chemically mistreated, considering its for my long-lived pet. Just be smart and wary when buying this perch.

It took three days and the budgies were on it and for me it works. It is very sturdy and that is what I wanted. Some things just do not work on a cage because of the way it is designed. The designers seem to forget some things, One must have a strong cage to put certain things on it. My birds do not spend much time in a cage, as they are always free, but they take a break now and then and just go in. They do a lot of social distancing one in the cage, one in front of the window for an hour or more they chat. The world is different now and the birds know it. Stay safe.

Flat bird perch stand with grinding paper over seems like a good idea but, my lovebird wont even jump on it and he jumps on everything in his flight cage. Maybe he knows something I dont. Hope its safe. I didnt notice any smell coming from it. Cant give much of a review as to whether it works to keep nails trimmed or not.

The platform was just the right size for the travel cage I am using it for. My bird immediately perched on it. The platform is well made and the hardware was shiny and easy to use. The coating on the platform is the same on both top and bottom so I assume if my birds nails wear it out I can just flip it over. Its like getting two for the price of one! The coating makes it very stable for a bird, especially for a travel cage. Im very impressed and will look into getting a larger size for my regular cage.

Was trying to find s omething diffrent for the bird to sit on and it seemed to like it.
